I hate to see people get so much in a tizz over so very little.I have devised a three point action plan for your therapy. It will help you in your parallel universe and you can overcome the paranoia over the imaginary abuse of your dear friend.

1. Ask her to go to the 'This is Staffordshire' website and post in her full name, her advice and view so that no one can be in any doubt, in Stoke, what she really thinks. All the Stokies, will be thrilled to see that the poster LBC and your friend are not connected.

2. Report all the imaginary abuse posts in this thread (obviously not your own) to MSE so that they can be removed by an independant third party.

3. Draft a robust defence for the OP Adinuff to show how a true pro does it.

Follow these simple steps and all will be well again. If not , please consult Harvey as I can't think anyone else can help.

edit: just noticed MSE have removed the big spamming post of Murdo from this thread. He may be in trouble now as it has been removed twice.

Lucy Bonham Carter is not difficult to find. She does not post anonymously.

I am a lawyer who works for an insurance company. I am also not difficult to find.

Unfortunately Money Saving Expert seems to have succumbed to publishing bogus and fraudulent posts along with a shameful level of abuse on a public forum.

Furthermore Money Saving Expert (the brand, rather than the forum) seems to have compounded the libel by removing any posts which challenges any view which contradicts this position or defend the reputation of the client.

This case is now likely to go legal but the reputation of Miss Bonham Carter and her detractors will be likely to be taken into consideration.

My own view is that Lucy has behaved entirely honourably throughout whereas others have not.

Yawn, I don't think I'll bother to follow the OP's post on here anymore. I'll stick to pepipoo where they don't bother with the sort of confusing posts this one has degenerated into.

If only someone who "runs" the MSE forums had thought of a way to deal with posts that are libellous or even racist or possible spam or offensive or indeed illegal.

Why have they not considered this and perhaps those with genuine complaints could report those posts by some means. Perhaps a button could be added to the screen somewhere, say near the posts, and it could be labelled "abuse" or some such thing.

I genuinely cannot believe that this has been overlooked.

I realise it would not stop useless trolls cluttering up threads with lies and unfounded allegations as a means to disrupt them but these idiots can always be ignored once spotted.

They do tend to give themselves away rather easily by their lack of any coherent arguments and inability to answer direct questions when challenged.

An excellent poster on the Pepippo site has now drafted an application for this case to be simply struck out.

It seems an excellent strategy to me. :cool:
