sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread but just saw nuttymummy and came on as I was dying to know how you'd got on after your visit the other weekend...obviously it went well :T which room are you having for the ceremony? I'm still envious of you folk having the whole do there but I'm just glad at least I have my daytime in one of my fave places (we popped in last week to see the baby elephant...so cute!!)
  • Hi!!!

yeah it went well we have booked for sunday 2nd Sept 2012!! its the library i think.....(the one with the bay window) due to having 60 guests. i thought the boardroom was nice n cosy though :)

im starting to ahve second thoughts on what to have!! im worried by budget is alot higher than other peoples n feel slightly stupid for spending so much (that we dont have yet) on just one day!! :(

Ooooh very good idea nuttymummy! I love this, its like our cafe, meeting up with people getting married the same month as you and not feeling so alone with the stress of it all!

    Im Natalie
    Age 26 (27 very shortly - eek!)
No babies, but definately trying on the honeymoon ;)
    Fiance is Daniel :iloveyou:
And just to add a bit on, budget is £4000 for the wedding (not including honeymoon)

Maybe White_Sapphire could add this to the top of thread so we all know who were talking to and new people to check us all out as we go along??!!

EDIT: Maybe we could add on where were getting married aswell?

So, as for adding more info to the first post, what do you think we should add? First name, fiance's name and general location of wedding? I think anything more might make it a bit crowded!

I know what you mean - we are still renting so I feel guilty about spending any money on the wedding as I feel that it should go towards a deposit, or as a savings fund for when we have children. But, we're not getting into debt, and we're not being extravagent by any stretch of the imagination. We could put off getting married forever by saying that all money must go towards house deposits, rainy day/emergency funds etc. If we were spending anywhere near the national average then I would feel worse, but as it is we are spending the least amount we reasonably can while still getting a wedding that we will enjoy, and that includes our family and friends who have supported us.

But sometimes I forget that and feel bad anyway :o

  • £11,000? Drat, I thought it was higher than that! We probably won't be too far off that once the Honeymoon is taken into account :(

Oh well, at least we will make sure we get the most we can out of our money!

I was thinking putting an extra post under the one you started with the names and dates in, putting the info in ppl have put about themselves, but dont even know if its possible to stick another post under that! And probably get too big like you say. What about making all ppls names and dates in bold where you have already put them in the first post, and then adding the details in next to each one, prob main info to include would be name, age, where getting married and budget??
