Good point!! I'll just have to make one, see how deep it is and multiply accordinglymmm, lemon polenta cake tower.....
your joking...BUY IT!!! LOL
HAH! You're a bad influence... The extensions I want are made of human hair not synthetic, and apparently they are only supposed to last around a year if you look after them well. Although I don't know if that's assuming that you wear them lots so they suffer from wear and tear, or if they just deteriorate regardless of whether or not you wear them. Never bought hair extensions before! I'll soon find other things to buy, don't worry!
Its not too early at allI have folders saved on my comp (miss organized!) under 'purple wedding' I have a folder for hair do-s, a folder for cakes, another for bouquet ideas, another for general purple wedding stuff etc.....I must be well sad LOL
We have a wedding folder saved on our computer too, which has folders for colours, designs (for inspiration when designing invites, table decorations etc), venue information, rings, plus the budget spreadsheet, appropriately entitled 'Argh!'. I also have a secret folder which has hairdos, mine and MoH's outfit ideas, accessories, and other stuff that isn't necessarily private but that I haven't discussed with H2B yet!
ive also decided on a hair style....just going for a very simple down-do. im terrible with updos, i know for a fact mine would just fall down or something LOL
having a slight curl/wave to it, and i have long dark hair, so something like this:
Ooh, pretty! :T
im loving people posting picciesi love looking at them!
Me too - it's one of the best things about this board - I get to fully indulge my nosey mare tendencies!
im DYING to buy things so Id deffo buy your clip! It will be cheaper this year than next year
I might leave it till the end of this year then - they should keep for 9 months or so. Meanwhile I will find other pretty things to buy - shouldn't be too hard! :rotfl:
i ALMOST bought my wedding shoes today (well ONE of my pairs)
Im getting married in purple heels...then walking round the zoo in purple sneakers LMAO...so i almost bought my sneakers at a bargain price of £9.99!!
I want purple heels too! I want to stay with the vintage theme and have T-bars or Dolly shoes.
Love the sneakers idea, you definitely don't want to be crippled by heels on your wedding day if you're walking round loads.
Picture of them please?
my giraffe cufflinks arrived this morning...SUPER CUTE!! love them
Yay! Again though - picture? :rotfl:
anyone else been drooling over wedding things you want to buy?
List of things Fiona wants to buy but can't yet:
- shoes
- wedding make up
- wedding underwear
- beads and wire for making a hair vine (which I may or may not wear, depending on how well it turns out)
- dress fabric
- ribbons and general haberdashery (Kid. Candy shop. Need I say more?)
- stationery
- jewellery
- pattern for MoH's outfit (which my lovely mum has offered to make)
- fabric for MoH's outfit
Could somebody please hide my purse from me?? :rotfl:Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Hi fiona, were actually off to a venue tomorrow morning. WIll let ya all know how it goes
Yes, the do is lovely! God knows who im going to get t do my hair and make up, It is in my budget at the mo,but suppose will depend on what we decide to actually do and if there is enough money in the pot to cover it! Think my dad wants to pay for that for me though,we shall see. if i have to do it myself, will need a lot of practice lol!
Tracey, I think i am sad,or obsessed or both too! I have a wedding file on comp with pics, budget, prices etc, and is only going to get bigger! i dont know what id do without all my lists! lol0 -
Hope the venue visit goes well tomorrow Natalie!
You've got ages to sort out hair and make up plans - it's lovely of your dad to want to pay for it. I'm hoping to practise hair and make up until I can pretty much do it in my sleep - I'll be a bit hyper on the day so will need to be confident in what I'm doing, otherwise I'll get nervous and poke myself in the eye with my eyeliner or something! Bloodshot eye does not a radient bride make... :rotfl:
Sad and obsessed we may be, but we'll be glad of the folders and lists we've been accumulating as our dates approach!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

lol i have my hair and make-up artist already booked LOL, i met her at a wedding fayre i went to, shes really nice, and by doing lots of research ive found shes quite cheap compared to others too!
For make-up (including false lash application), hair, AND a trail its £150
some people cost £70 for hair, £70 for make-up and even more for a trial! so i thought it was quite good.
Im trying to get all the things i can 'book' booked LOL so thats venue, registrar hair n make-up, and seeing the phototographer soon, now i just need to find a good price on coaches!
here are the cufflinks LOL look alot nicer in real life too! bargain price of about £9, delivered!
i havent got a picture of the sneakers i almost bought, but im leaning towards these now as i think they are a closer match to the dark purple:
(and this is a secret from OH but i think im going to buy him some zebra/giraffe sort of print underpants as a present on the morning of the wedding LMAO)
ive just bought something else for the wedding last night LOL cant help myself!! Got an elephant punch for making my own invites!:
it cuts cute nellies out like these:
good luck at the venue today nat!

How cute is that elephant hole punch??
H2B and I are going to his parents' house today for lunch with both sets of parents. We'll take our venue brochure to show them, and see where the conversation leads us - we haven't really had any proper conversations about the wedding yet and I want to make sure that his parents are involved. I really want to show MIL2B my dress pattern as well, if we can get rid of the boys for long enough!
We saw a potential evening venue on Friday, which is almost perfect - near our day venue, cheap hire costs, and a lovely building to boot! There are issues surrounding parking (on-street only, and there isn't enough of that for the residents), but H2B had the genius idea of going into the spa and leisure centre next door and asking about hiring part of their car park for the evening :T. We haven't heard anything from them yet, but the man we spoke to said that they are usually very quiet on a Saturday evening, so here's hoping!
The other issue is we'd have to hire tables and chairs (the venue have some but the chairs are of the blue plastic variety and the tables are no better), plus a mobile bar, and all crockery etc. So we need to look into how much all of that will cost before we book. I'm too impatient though and just want to pay the deposits and worry about the other stuff later!!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

it sounded really good till you mentioned youd have to hire alot of other stuff! though if you look into it all and its not too much to hire, i'd go for it! Im the same as you and impatient to book things, but i did tons of research before hand into extra costs n stuff......but i still went ahead and booked it anyway and asked a few of the other questions later! LOL
good luck with both sets of parents!! hope you manage to lead them into the conversation you want to havex
we are going to be the most organized brides ever! LOL everything will be booked and ready this year LOL
I have to hold out in the way of favours as they are going to be animal biscuits (which wont last long) wont start the cake for ages yet, and still having trouble finding a topper!
mother of the bride outfit (as she says she wants to lose weight, so pointless looking yet!) same with the bridesmaids....they are both pregnant so cant buy all the bargains till they can try them on lol
for a person being really organized its like torture having to wait so long!? anyone else feel like that? LOL:dance:

At the moment just looking at bits and bobs of stationary etc. just trying to buy when see something for right price. Got our guest book from ebay for £10 and our cake toppers were so cheap too! At the moment trying to find a large vintage photoframe (like A2/A1 size) to do a table plan. Just got a picture in my head what I want!
: ) I LOVE wedding planning!
xxx
Not sure if I'm really allowed here as I am mother of the bride, but so excited as my daughter Catherine is marrying David on 22 September 2012. They are also having a humanist wedding and we have a budget of £5500 - mostly ebay and 'mates rates'! Just looking for a photographer - we are thinking of approaching the local Art College and asking them if any students would like a project - what do you think?0 -
Debbiecatal - Welcome! You can do all the MSE stuff for your daughter on here!
I am also getting married on 22nd September! And also considering looking for a student photographer who are on their way up - Its worth looking into. Where will you daughter be getting married?0 -
Hi all,
Been to the venue today. Its quite a lovely little place, not overpowering, but just nice. I am extremely surprised as my H2B is taken by it! And is also considering actually getting married there! LOL He was adamant he was getting married in a church, but the wedding planner guy has made him feel very relaxed and more chilled about the wedding now! Thanks Mr Wedding Planner!
We discussed various options and ended up getting a rough quote from him. We said we would get married in Church, then turn up there late afternoon, have a bucks fizz reception (great, its my fav drink and hate champagne!), start having pictures in the lovely little garden they have (they have a random old fashioned red telephone box in there too), then have like an afternoon tea, scones, finger sandwhiches etc, drinks at the bar, then evenin buffet (mainly hot buffet), DJ etc.
Its quite good actually as the bar is in a separate room to the seating/disco area and there are a couple other rooms and a conservatory and the outside area for people to go and mingle and not just be stuck in one room.
The guy said that we could also get married there for no extra cost, except the registrar, which would have to organise and pay oursleves, in the conservatory which makes you feel outside as we discussed wanting to get married outside. And also, this way, we could invite only the few close family and friends we want to come to the cermony, which Daniel loved the idea of because of his anxiety! Bless him.
Still not 100% yet. But definately a contender. Even though its not as expensive as others ive heard of its still £2700 for the afternoon tea, evening buffet, a lil cottage attached to the hotel for the night (bride and groom) and DJ, its goin to be over our budget I think considering a photographer, cake, dress, grooms suit, BMs etc etc Arrrrgggghhh!0 -
ohhh nat it sounds PERFECT!! im getting excited for you!! it sounds fabulous! AND the place im getting married has a random red phonebox too
LOL
and also has the same option to not be stuck in one room where the music is!
It sounds just lovely!
and to get married there at no extra cost is ace!! our registrar is approx £397 by the time weve paid the notices aswell.
welcome debbie! lol ive written many times my thoughts on photographers and wont bore the girls who have already had to read it, but it should be a few pages back now...i hope it helps!! the main point is....photos and rings are the only things that will last from years to come...and the photos will help relive the day when other things have been forgotten, make sure you really do some research into it xxx:dance:
