    Hi Sian,

Yes you get 45mins at the chapel & in the grounds for pics etc, I knew this & I think it will be long enough as the services is quiet short & because it's an enclosed bay it will be very hot!.

We actually stay in Pefkos the next village round, but we always go to Lindos 3 or 4 times while we are there. Lindos is a lovely place i'm sure you will love it & it's good that you are going out there this year to get the feel of it. The setting of the chapel is beautiful, we have looked at it many times but never been right up to it, so this year while we are there we are going to go. We haven't decided on where to have the reception yet we can't decide if to stay in Lindos or go back to Pefkos as there are several traverns there we love. We are there in September this year again for 2 weeks so we will look more closely at reception venue this year. Next year we are staying at the usual sc apartments in Pefkos but H2B is booking us in at one of the lovely 5* hotels for 3 nights as a seperate honeymoon so we can spoil ourselves.

  • Hi Fawny
Yes to be fair, any longer and i will be melting in my dress!! I've already bought one but it is quite light so hopefully shouldn't be too hot!! I think we are going to hire a car when we go out in 2weeks to have a look at pefkos too because i've seen a lot of good feedback. HAve you seen the pictures for the Aqua grand? that looks gorgeous for a mini-moon!! i will inform you of all my findings once i am back! Who did you book the chapel trhough by the way?
    Thanks
    Sian

    Hi Sian,

We have booked our wedding with Karen of Lindos Weddings & she is coming over to the UK to meet us in the winter so we can arrange everything. Yes we have been looking at the Aquagrand H2B has his eye on one of those room with the seaview & a private pool so I think thats where we will be going, not very MSE:o but we are saving money elsewhere. Pefkos is lovely too & it's only 10mins on the bus so easy to get to from Lindos. Means your guests will have a wide range of options of where to stay, I've told mine they can stay in Pefkos or Lindos there is plenty of choice. You are organised on the dress, i've not sorted mine yet. I'm having one made & the lady who is making it has done a few sketches for me & we think we have it sorted but she is not going to start making it until next year.

Watch out for Twirly, she is getting married there on 10th June & is out there now, I'm sure she will post some pics when she gets back - well I hope she does:D

WhiteSapphire how are you getting on sorting your venue?

Hope all the rest of our Sept gang are doing ok?

Can't wait to see Twirly's pics! :j I hope she has an amazing time - she certainly deserves it after everything!!

H2B and I have decided to go back to our original venues and see what we can negotiate with them before deciding anything. I've done a fairly in-depth search (with a lot of help from people on this forum :D) so we have other potential venues to look at if we do decide to cancel our current plans. Thing is, a lot of our budget is taken up with food and drink, which to be honest is as cheap there as at most other places, so we'd only be saving money on the venue hire cost. Given that we may lose our deposit and that any savings made on hire costs may be swallowed up by other things we don't really need at the mo eg transport and decorations, we are wondering whether going elsewhere is really going to save us anything! We've had another look at our guest list and it's looking like it will be a maximum of 80 for the day, still unsure for the evening, but working on around 120 estimate. This is slightly less than we thought (we were thinking 85-90) so this has reduced the food & booze budget a bit! We think that if we speak to the caterers and see what they can do, like using cheaper ingredients, then that should knock a few quid off. We've already decided to have the wedding cake as dessert, so that helps!

We're also trying to work out how to save more money too (basically: I need to make more money. Ebay & Etsy here I come!)

Blimmin' nightmare this budgeting malarkey, ain't it?! :rotfl:

Good luck white sapphire we're planning to do a cash and carry dash for soft drinks and booze our venue will let us bring our own then charge cockage only don't know whether that would help cut the cost if your venue allows it

I'm going to my venue tomorrow to pay the deposit and sign the papers! I'm soooooooo excited!

Just need to poke OH a little more to get the addresses for his "side" so I can send out some Save the Dates!
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Well done with finding a venue. Try MILB if OH isn't forthcoming with addresses. Sorting out Save the dates at the moment and wondering how formal they have to be my family and friends refer me as a shorten version of my name (let say viki not my real name) and my OH prefers to be called a shorten version of his name Ben (again not his real name) but his family call him Benjamin. Do you think it ok to put Viki and Ben or Viki and Benjamin or should it be Victoria and Benjamin
