I agree! I bought my adult bridesmaids necklaces that they can all wear on the day (will give them to them on the morning) but for the flower girls i want to get them something they can keep and a reminder that they are flower girls. when i was 6 i was a bridesmaid for my cousin and i still have the little white bible they gave me.
Same for page boys who i find even harder... want to get them something they can keep but boys are sooo hard? I was thinking maybe a silver yoyo to get engraved?????
If anyone has any ideas please feel free to share!!!

Yeah I've made cakes before. Getting better slowly. Think the first one should be a piece of !!!! compared to the second one. lol. Oh I dunno. I think the thing putting me off the first one is all the roses i'll have to make. Should really start them soon shouldn't I.
Im the same! I got my little girl (age 2) an over the shoulder bag that surprisingly couldn't match her outfit anymore on the day if I tried! Ive sewn the strap so its the right height for her, and she can store all her pinata winnings and candy buffet stuff in there haha
I thought about getting the bridesmaids necklaces, but seeing as they are going to need those i will feel awful giving presents out later on and not include them..
When I was bridesmaid I received a lovely compact mirror with lots of bling on it. But seeing as my bridesmaid IS that bride that gave me that, I cant copy lol
Id take the second cake to make over the first one any day! Lol Quilting, roses...
The second one is dripped chocolate lol
Im making mine the week before (dummy cake) as the colours im using tend to fade a little bit.nikkinakkinoo wrote: »Same for page boys who i find even harder... want to get them something they can keep but boys are sooo hard? I was thinking maybe a silver yoyo to get engraved?????

Im getting bored with the OBVIOUS gift choices. Everytime I search for something up pop personalized best man socks, trinket boxes etc.....I want something new, something different!
So far I have a box of chocs for the bridesmaids...zoo themed! lolDont know what to get to go with them lol

Everyone has heard it all before so we want to slip a few of our own vows in to stop people getting bored. Something to make them sit up after all the usual wedding stuff and say 'did i just hear that right?!' :rotfl:
so there will be all the 'i give you this ring' stuff and the 'i dos' but everyone is used to those. So some of our vows ideas are:
'I promise to not physically force you to watch horror movies till you cry like a little girl'
Hopefully it should wake people up, as everyone knows how much of a wuss my other half is with horror films, and i LOVE them lol
Another one for Adam to say:
' I promise not to argue with you, afterall we know your ALWAYS right'
still going through drafts but it will hopefully match our dayCatherine and David are keeping their vows secret, but Catherine told me some of David's ideas that she vetoed, such as "I promise to support you in everything you do, however embarrassing or demeaning it might be"
The worst part is, he thought it was a lovely thing to say!!!!0 -

Catherine's flower girl loves fairies so we have bought her a set of fairy wings to match her dress. We will give them to her after the ceremony during the speeches so she can wear them with the dress for the rest of the day.0 -

I've got no idea what to get our attendants and parents; it's extremely difficult to think of something that isn't cliched!!
So far I've got my MoH a necklace - not to wear on the day but to present at the reception. Got it months ago and felt very pleased with myself, but have done nothing since!! Got to find things for a five-year-old page boy, three ushers, a best man, and the parents. Plus something for H2B! :eek:Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Sorry to butt in, I'm a lurker on everyone elses date threads lol.
I am going to get my flowergirl and junior bridesmaids a personalised teddy each off ebay and then get either the farmyard, zoo or cupcake and daisy set of chocolates from here

put a selection of three into celephane bags and put them in the free bags from vistaprint with their names on. I'm going to order my mum some choclate cows (they're her favourite animal) for christmas off the kids and since they keep for a year I'll order the gifts at the same time0 -
Thanks for the comments about the pics, we're very lucky to have such a talented photographer
Seeing the photos really made me visualise the day as we'll use a lot of the same locations.
I'm stuck for gifts for our parents - so glad I'm not alone in that department! Want to stay away from the traditional bouquet but no idea what to get instead...
Debbie/Catherine - that is the sort of thing that my OH would do :rotfl: We have pretty much stuck with the vows that were in the pack from our registrar, but we have mixed them up a bit as none of the suggestions were quite right.
Nuttymummy, I love the zoo chocolates0 -
Hmm I'm dithering over chair covers! I refuse to oat somebody upwards of £1.50 to hire their chair covers so I'm considering buying some secOnd hand ones on eBay. Thing is the chairs at our venue are short backed. I have the skills to make my own but then don't think I could sell them on again after.
How's everybody feeling? 6 weeks 2 days to go hereMy big fat eBay wedding £1200 budget! 1st September 2012!!
Mummy to two little soldiers and still mothering my solider htb! X0
