• thanks everyone - esp. to nuttymummy & white_sapphire, h2b has nothing to do whilst i am on my hen do so will while away his time driving around with the best man to scout out the area. good news is that he is feeling much more positive today :)

i did have another idea which is to try the local marquee companies or even the co they hired the inflatable form to see if they can recommend some places that usually hire out land so fingers crossed they'll find somewhere as for me I have a hen do to get excited about!!

i am loving reading about peoples ideas and tips as well as seeing photos! White_sapphire - i have so much admiration for you making your own dress (and everyone else making their own!) i would love to have such skills!

Oh that dress is stunning! And absolutely love the necklace!

You don't seem made with your plan. I dragged my dad to the reception venue tape measure in hand and demanded a cm by cm floor plan. As we are limited for space need to know exactly were everything's going :)

Made a trial chocolate cake for my bottom tier at weekend omg it was gawjus. I only did a 2/3 size version. It weighed 4kg and contained 7 eggs, 700g sugar, 600g chocolate. Cannot weight till the day and the end of my diet lol x
6 n abit weeks eeek

Thank-you! Ha ha we did the same, I went to measure the tables ha ha.

yay for cake! Im surrounded by that stuff everyday so its really hard to diet! lol

Tracey, your dress and necklace look amazing!!

I noticed last week that the chuffin' back chuffin' seam was chuffin' WONKY!!!!!:mad::mad: Thought at first that I was going to have to take most of the dress apart to fix it, but have managed to sort it out without having to unpick other seams, thankfully!

thank-you!
aww no! Im so glad it was less work than having to undo the entire thing!! Im off to look in the gallery in a mo :) I still cant believe your making your own, i couldnt even contemplate it! lol its pure talent :T
t good news is that he is feeling much more positive today :)

thats good! fingers crossed for him, im sure it will all work out!

We have been trying to sort out vows. As we are having the shortest possible ceremony, we still have to say all the 'legal' bits. Everyone has heard it all before so we want to slip a few of our own vows in to stop people getting bored. Something to make them sit up after all the usual wedding stuff and say 'did i just hear that right?!' :rotfl:

so there will be all the 'i give you this ring' stuff and the 'i dos' but everyone is used to those. So some of our vows ideas are:
'I promise to not physically force you to watch horror movies till you cry like a little girl'
Hopefully it should wake people up, as everyone knows how much of a wuss my other half is with horror films, and i LOVE them lol

Another one for Adam to say:
' I promise not to argue with you, afterall we know your ALWAYS right' :p

still going through drafts but it will hopefully match our day :)

8 Weeks and 3 days for me, or 58 days, or 1 month 28 days, whichever way you want to look at it ;)

Spoke to the venue finally and got a load of things off my mind. We get to have the wedding ceremoney in the bit I wanted with the garden path leading up to it, weirdly he'd never heard of a wedding in that bit before but said it would be ok. :D Sooooo excited. can fit 50ish people in there and we have 54 so it shouldn't be too bad.

Been looking around for helium for my balloons in balloons and the best price I found was £50 and I had to do it myself. Went into the local "one stop wedding shop" and they will blow all them up for me and tie the string on for me for £34.20 :D So happy with that price and it's one less thing for me to do.

Got all my sweets for the centerpieces :D OH's suit is in the dry cleaners finally, the bridesmaids dresses arrived and look good, just need a little tweaking but they'll be done when my dress gets done :D I've admitted defeat after 2 weeks of not losing ANY weight so I'm getting it taken out to it original size.

Only things left to do are these:

1. Make Cake
2. Tone Up
3. Write Speech
4. Bridesmaids/best man Presents
5. Find Chair Covers
6. Make Table plan
7. Make name cards and write what they’re having
8. Pay Photographer
9. Pay Registrar
10. Pay Venue
11. Get numbers and dishes to venue
12. Get dresses fitted and taken out.

Not too much to do in less than 2 months so I'm happy. I'm having second thoughts about my cake design now...I WAS going to have this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/100/6001331162188.jpg/ but now I've seen this and have fallen in love with it :Dhttp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/chocolatevanillawedding.jpg/

Everyone looks like their wedding is coming along nicely which is marvelous :D

Tracey, your dress looks gorgeous. And your necklace matches very nicely. I bet you're well chuffed.

thanks!
LOVE the trial pics! Yes the last one is lovely! Have you thought about getting those clip in extensions?
My hairdresser has told me to buy 2 clips and she will fit them on the day to get more volume. I reckon with one clip it will give you the look you want in the last picture. Either way the style is really nice and suits you :)

ooo that first cake is lovely neneromanova!
Have you made many cakes before? I only ask because the second cake looks easier to make than the first.
Nice small list for you to do! Im having trouble with the gifts for bridesmaids, best man, ushers etc. Totally stumped!

and fab news on the balloons!! :T

Tell me about it! OH can't think of anything for his best man and I can't think of anything for any of my ladies! Or my girls for that matter. I want something they can keep and that doesn't break, but shows they were a flower girl. Soooo hard.

Yeah I've made cakes before. Getting better slowly. Think the first one should be a piece of !!!! compared to the second one. lol. Oh I dunno. I think the thing putting me off the first one is all the roses i'll have to make. Should really start them soon shouldn't I.
