:j :j so pleased for you. I bet you feel everything is falling into place now? I did when I got my second dress
Thanks for the hair comments, the clip was £12 from Accessorize and I bought these coils/spins from EBay last night. A lot of the curls were still there this morning so I'm pretty sure it'll hold
Had our pre-wedding shoot this morning which went really well - it was even warm & sunny!!! It felt very weird posing & being in front of the camera as I'm so used to being her assistant, but got into the swing of things after a while. OH & I then spent the afternoon eating fish & chips and Bakewell Puddings by the river in the sunshine - so nice just to take a bit of time off and spend it together, I feel like I haven't seen him properly for weeks! Pics from the shoot will be online next week I think so I'll post a link when they are
We're visiting the registry office next Saturday to see the room & talk through the ceremony so we need to agree on music this week, what are you all having?
Short list so far (It took ages to get down to this list, and now I just can't seem to make the final decision!)
Bride Entry: Pachabel Canon in D or String Quartet version of Can't Help Falling in Love with You
Signing: Songbird by Eva Cassidy & either Wonderful World or Perfect Day
Exit: The You & Me song0 -

ha ha OK...I went for......................DRESS 2.
LOl I know not all of you liked that one, but I tried it on again and I just loved it lol I felt too 'normal' in the third dress. (although it was still very pretty!)
YAY!!!!!!!! That was my second fave of the four - the front and back are both stunning and I adore the tie at the waist xxx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Thank-you! Yes I certainly do!! Its weird how much im looking forward to it MORE now
aww cant WAIT for pics, love stuff like that XD
ooo the can't help falling in love with you one would be lovely
Im a huge fan of Canon in D (reminds me so much of father of the bride!) But its HUGELY used. Which makes you get all jiggly inside?
My songs arent really 'wedding songs' lol
I know what I want to walk into but finding it/making it is impossible! lol
I want Bryan Adams - Here I am
but heres the problem. There are 3 versions.
The rocky (slightly faster) original version with the RIGHT words,
a slow version from the film Spirit with the right music but WRONG words
and a live acoustic version which combines the two...the slowness of the second and words of the first (the perfect combo), but theres a ton of cheering taped on it lol
Gutted!
Here the rocky version with the right words:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xr6VKg7sE
and the slower softer version but the wrong words (singing about a single person (horse) lol instead of a couple)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU08zpQqfKo
We have to choose 3 for the signing - so we got:
Hakuna matata (bahamen version lol) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNVfd1Eax64
Good Enough - Cyndi Lauper (from the Goonies) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Scu81EW4UC8
(one more the choose here like from the Lion king or something)
Walking out to Power of Love - huey lewis from back to the Future
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NMph943tsw
xYAY!!!!!!!! That was my second fave of the four - the front and back are both stunning and I adore the tie at the waist xxx
XD thank-you! Yeah those belts are about £150! Eeeek. I want one on a VERY light silver ribbon to flow down the back once its tiedx

NM: yay! i liked #2 too!
Roz: that hair is gorgeous! *jealous*
We've been worrying about music too!
I know I want Ravel's Bolero to be playing while the guests enter and take their seats. Our version is 15 minutes long and builds to a great crescendo so I hope it'll work well!
For the recessional, we'll probably have a strings or piano version of an REM song, or perhaps something like Madness' "It Must Be Love"
but the processional! eeeep! So many possibilities, so many things i dislike, or am just utterly ambivalent about....
At the moment, the three top contenders are:
* Concerning Hobbits (yes, from Lord of the Rings) perhaps a piano version though.
* Romantic Flight again, on piano.
* Leaves in the Wind by Isaac Shepherd
but then my OH wants to mix things up by ALSO walking down the aisle (right at the beginning, before the bridal party), so.. do we have one long song, do we have two different ones? if two, WHICH two?? arrrgh!Life on a shoestring!0 -
Is anybody else getting bored of waiting now?
I've done and gotten pretty much everything that I can now besides my balloons, food and drink. I'm making my own cake and favours but they don't need doing yet so I just find myself rewriting my budget and guest list lol x

Wish we had a wedding holiday fawny! Out honeymoon is in the premier inn down the road were most of our guests will also be lol. We've 2 young boys 2 & 6 months so can't go to far and their apart of the family after all so may go away later on.
And nm your weddings only 54/55 days away depending what time you're getting marriedAll my plans sort of fell into place. My son already had a wedding suit so the colour scheme came from there. The date chosen as its the only day both church and venue were free and everything else seems to of been fluke!
I've bought a brandnew wedding dress for £31 ( was in the sale for £700) and it fits like a dream. We've bought the guys waistcoats rather than hire and I paid £50 for 8 bhs wedding waistcoats off eBay (£35 each usually!!)
My oh is army and wanted to get married in his no1 dress. To hire would of been £150, to buy new £550+ or sourced on eBay £50!My big fat eBay wedding £1200 budget! 1st September 2012!!

Aww Catherine those pieces of music are beautiful, I particularly like the first two but they all made me well up
I would say seperate songs for you & OH to walk down the aisle to
Tilly I'm with you in a way in that I can't wait for the day to be here, but I still have a fair few bits to do before then which I seem to be running out of time for! You're doing amazingly with your budget, some great bargains there
Stayed an extra half hour at work tonight and had a bit of an eBay session buying some bits & bobs so one step closer to being done. Though the next few weeks of planning seem to involve my chequebook rather more often that it's used to as balances become due!0 -
Hello
my very first post so hope I'm doing it right?
I'm getting married September 1st and I cannot wait!
Only have a 1200£ budget but I've found it really easy to do.
Only thing we can't decide on is if to have a dj or not
Welcome Tillymama! You seem so organised; I really want time to slow the :eek::eek::eek: down cos there's so much to do!!!Hello All!
I've been reading regularly but not posting as not sure what to say...... I have been having lots of worries recently and just not feeling excited about the weddingI want to be married to my wonderful boyf I just don't want the big wedding day.
I hate being centre of attention, never have birthday parties or anything and just prefer being a wall flower - can't be that on my wedding day!
I also hate how i look. Put on a lot of weight in last year or two because of health issues and even though we got engaged 4 months ago, i've not done much about getting it sorted - the stress has made me keep eating! I am now trying v hard, but not sure it'll be enough - particularly as our pre-wedding shoot is next week (did I mention I HATE having my photo taken and have refused for so long friends don't even try and get me in photos anymore!) and my dress has arrived in the shop.
Similar to NM I didn't love my dress when I bought it. I liked the style - in fact I sought it out in a shop after seeing a picture of it but not sure it suits me - biggest problem when trying it on was that it was many sizes too small for me and so couldn't relaly see what it looked like when i tried it on as it was about 10-12 inches off closing!
Now I am scared to go and try it on incase I don't like it now its in my size (particularly as I saw a photo of someone on facebook wearing the same dress - don't worry no one I know, just someone I once went to school with was tagged at the wedding - but she was also a 'big' girl and it didn't suit her. my mum said i am being ridiculous as she was about 6 inches shorter than me and a little bigger and so can't compare how dress looks on her to how it might look on me)
I bought the dress because it was the one i saw a picture of and liked, not because i loved it on me. BUt then as hardly any dress i tried on was in my size it was hard to see if any dress could be 'the one'.
I hate girly things - have no idea what to do with my hair or make-up, have no veil or tiara/comb, no jewellery or shoes and don't know where to start with it all.
Think this has all come to a head as my OH is getting worried about my lack of enthusiasm for the wedding as it gets closer (I was v keen at the start!) and I was talking to one of my OH's friends new wife last night and she was asking questions about dress/hair/make-up and I could barely summons a smile as we talked, think she thought i was having doubts about the wedding, but i'm not - i just don't want to people to look at me!
and breathe - feel better for getting all of this out, although a little teary! sorry for the long post!
babyb06, I'm sorry you've had a hard time, I hope you're feeling a bit better now? If you are an introvert who does not like being the centre of attention, then you can have a wedding that reflects that; small guest list, minimum number of photos, drop all the grand entrances if they're not your style (eg you don't have to be 'announced' into the reception if you don't want to), etc.
I'm feeling a little stressed at the mo; trying to find a new place to live, organise the ceremony (H2B and I are in disagreement over this - good natured disagreement, but I'm not sure how to compromise so that we're both happy), sort out my passport (have had cash flow problems so haven't been able to send off the forms yet and I'm scared they'll be delayed), organise the rest of the wedding, finish my dress (going well by the way - forgotten my camera the last two times hence lack of photos, sorry!)) and stop my allotment looking like a haven for triffids - already lost most of my sweet peas due to slugs, bindweed and weird weather
they were supposed to be my bouquet. Just want to wind the clock back two months, then I'll be fine...
