    Hello All!

I've been reading regularly but not posting as not sure what to say...... I have been having lots of worries recently and just not feeling excited about the wedding :( I want to be married to my wonderful boyf I just don't want the big wedding day.

I hate being centre of attention, never have birthday parties or anything and just prefer being a wall flower - can't be that on my wedding day!

I also hate how i look. Put on a lot of weight in last year or two because of health issues and even though we got engaged 4 months ago, i've not done much about getting it sorted - the stress has made me keep eating! I am now trying v hard, but not sure it'll be enough - particularly as our pre-wedding shoot is next week (did I mention I HATE having my photo taken and have refused for so long friends don't even try and get me in photos anymore!) and my dress has arrived in the shop.

Similar to NM I didn't love my dress when I bought it. I liked the style - in fact I sought it out in a shop after seeing a picture of it but not sure it suits me - biggest problem when trying it on was that it was many sizes too small for me and so couldn't relaly see what it looked like when i tried it on as it was about 10-12 inches off closing!

Now I am scared to go and try it on incase I don't like it now its in my size (particularly as I saw a photo of someone on facebook wearing the same dress - don't worry no one I know, just someone I once went to school with was tagged at the wedding - but she was also a 'big' girl and it didn't suit her. my mum said i am being ridiculous as she was about 6 inches shorter than me and a little bigger and so can't compare how dress looks on her to how it might look on me)

I bought the dress because it was the one i saw a picture of and liked, not because i loved it on me. BUt then as hardly any dress i tried on was in my size it was hard to see if any dress could be 'the one'.

I hate girly things - have no idea what to do with my hair or make-up, have no veil or tiara/comb, no jewellery or shoes and don't know where to start with it all.

Think this has all come to a head as my OH is getting worried about my lack of enthusiasm for the wedding as it gets closer (I was v keen at the start!) and I was talking to one of my OH's friends new wife last night and she was asking questions about dress/hair/make-up and I could barely summons a smile as we talked, think she thought i was having doubts about the wedding, but i'm not - i just don't want to people to look at me!

and breathe - feel better for getting all of this out, although a little teary! sorry for the long post!

Aww BabyB have you spoken to your OH about how you feel about being centre of attention? Are you having a big wedding?

Regarding the dress, go and try it on now it's in your size and I'm sure it will all fall in to place :) also ask the ladies in the shop for advice re. Hair/make up/veil as they will know their stuff - its part of the service you're paying for in buying the dress from them. Or search for images of similar dresses to yours and see how other brides have had their hair/veil. Do you have a hairdresser who will be doing your hair on the day? If so, have a trial - they will be able to advise what will work with your face shape/dress style/hair type.

As for make up, are you planning on doing it yourself? Do you normally wear make up? I wear a fair bit of make up every day (foundation, powder, mascara, eyeliner) but it's a fairly basic look & I wanted something a but more special for on the day so I booked a lesson with the Chanel counter at my local John Lewis and it was brilliant :) my advice would be look at all the counters in your local Boots/Debenhams/wherever and find a counter where you like the make up of the assistant - so many I saw were bright orange & overdone which wasn't the look I wanted to be taught but I really liked the style of the girl at Chanel hence me booking with her (hope that makes sense - I've had a glass of wine!!)

    Big hugs xxxx

    Congratulations Tillymama :D

Re. The DJ, what are your other options? Would a DJ fit with the style of the rest of your day?

Congrats on the budget, that's amazing!

Ours is coming in at just under 7.5k which is about 1k more than we originally wanted to spend, but we've splashed out massively on the wedding breakfast for our 14 ceremony guests which has taken us over (it's costing about the same as our evening buffet for 135 people ) and we've also ended up paying for suit hire for our dads too. Everything else has come in on/under, but we can afford the extra so I'm not stressing about it too much!

PM, it sounds like you need a weekend off from the wedding to de-stress a bit? A couple of days delay won't affect anything and it will do you the world of good xxx

A weekend sounds lovely. My oh is only really around at the weekend to do things and sometimes hes working away so we don't have much time to spare.
