I was thinking of having this reading, my daughter is reading. But she is also doing a speech at the reception.
I dunno if the word dinosaur is mentioned too often. It is a very sweet reading though
The fierce Dinosaur was trapped inside his cage of ice.
Although it was cold he was happy in there. It was, after all, his cage.
Then along came the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
The Lovely Other Dinosaur melted the Dinosaur’s cage with kind words and loving thoughts.
I like this Dinosaur thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
Although he is fierce he is also tender and he is funny.
He is also quite clever though I will not tell him this for now.
I like this Lovely Other Dinosaur, thought the Dinosaur.
She is beautiful and she is different and she smells so nice.
She is also a free spirit which is a quality I much admire in a dinosaur.
But he can be so distant and so peculiar at times, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
He is also overly fond of things.
Are all Dinosaurs so overly fond of things?
But her mind skips from here to there so quickly thought the Dinosaur.
She is also uncommonly keen on shopping.
Are all Lovely Other Dinosaurs so uncommonly keen on shopping?
I will forgive his peculiarity and his concern for things, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
For they are part of what makes him a richly charactered individual.
I will forgive her skipping mind and her fondness for shopping, thought the Dinosaur.
For she fills our life with beautiful thoughts and wonderful surprises. Besides,
I am not unkeen on shopping either.
Now the Dinosaur and the Lovely Other Dinosaur are old.
Look at them.
Together they stand on the hill telling each other stories and feeling the warmth of the sun on their backs.
And that, my friends, is how it is with love.
Let us all be Dinosaurs and Lovely Other Dinosaurs together.
For the sun is warm.
And the world is a beautiful place0 -

Iv'e got so many probs with wedding planning and so many other things making me so0 -
Thought I'd post on here and say hello and good luck to every one getting married in September!
We got engaged about 6 weeks ago and have booked our wedding for 29 September this year (I'm not pregnant!) which seemed to horrify loads of wedding dress shops that I went in to be told its 'just not possible' to arrange a dress (or anything else for that matter) in that timescale. Nonsense!
I eventually got one in the Manchester branch of Pronuptia (now called Mia Sposa I think?) - its gorgeous and the staff in there were fantastic - really friendly and helpful. Total contrast to Berketex in London who were awful and I came out of there on the verge of tears, worst experience ever!
We've booked our ceremony and reception at Victoria Baths in Mancheter and the registrar's all sorted - we just need to give the notice of intention to marry, but have just moved house so need to wait until we have some utility bills to prove residency.
How are everyone's plans going? Our ceremony is at 12:30 and we're a little bit worried about how to occupy people all day? Does anyone have any ideas for (cheapish) entertainment - we're having a DJ after the meal, but before then we wanted to do something (it'll be mostly adults with a few kids here and there).
We're having drinks and canap!s after the reception and then a 3 course wedding breakfast (with the wedding cake as the pudding) - found a fantastic little place in West Didsbury that were excellent value and a lovely bloke who runs it who 'got' exactly what we wanted when we spoke; neither they or the venue charge corkage either so we're arranging our own bar. It's a place called Thyme Out Deli in case anyone's looking for caterers in that area.
What sort of timescale have you all been working to? Everyone I've spoken to seems to think only having a few months to plan would be hard work, but I'm really enjoying it; I don't think I cold cope with spending 2 years doing it all! Mind you, we're doing a lot ourselves and aren't spend too much in the scheme of things, considering the 'average' cost of a wedding is 17k or something - wow!!
Welcome to the thread vbt!! A few other people have joined the thread recently having only just started planning so it is most definitely do-able!
What time is your meal, and how long is your ceremony likely to last? The photos usually take longer than you think, and people are usually quite happy to hang around chatting and drinking for a couple of hours.I was thinking of having this reading, my daughter is reading. But she is also doing a speech at the reception.

Hello Ladies,
I'm off work today as full of cold & feel terrible, it been going round the office I think everyone is ill. I'm curled up watching tv with my dog keeping me warm. If I have enough energy later i'm going to try & write my vows. Our documents will be back today from the foreign office, just waiting for the fedex man to bring them. Just to send them to Lindos then, not sure the best way to send them:undecided Looking at DHL which is £24 but some people on the wedding planner facebook page have sent by airmail with the post office no problems & managed to track them, but when I asked at the post office the lady said none of the tracking services tracked to Rhodes so now i'm confused. Just waiting for the girls on facebook to tell me which service they used, I know they only paid about £10.
t*ovi I love your pre wedding shots, they are really great. I think the Dinosaur reading is lovely too:D
Nutty good luck today with making a decision on the dress, go with the one you really love:D
Lovely readings too Catherine & so glad you have got your cermony sorted now.
vbt hello & welcome to you, sounds like you are doing great getting everything sorted.
Partmouse sorry to hear you are not great at the moment, we are happy to listen, it helps to get it out.
Fiona, how are you getting on with your dress?
For readings my bm is reading " I'll be there for you" by Lousie Cuddon & best man's 10 year old daughter is doing one too, but don't know which one yet. I've given her Mum 4 that we like & said she can read any of them whichever she feels most happy with. Hope everyone is well.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Morning all
Feeling really stressed with it all. Firsly the venue arn't returning my calls or emails. This started almost 2 weeks ago and when I finally got round to speaking to the wedding co-oridnator the other day he sounded really evasieve and didnt really want to talk. I followed up the call with another email asking him to confirm when he had checked to see if the things I wanted were in place, that email wasn't answered either. Also when I was last there I asked if i could see the suite, i was taken to view it and a mans trousers and so on were on the floor. the room was clearly booked out and didn't feel comfortable at all.
I got a call from the hairdressers yesterday saying the stylist that was doing my braidesmaids hair isn't in that day and hes the only other person that can do up do's. Theres not enough time for her to go to the stylist im having as she does up do's so now all she can have is a blowdry and nothing else.0 -

Alterations, sweetheart neckline putting in,large blingy belt or applique to the stomach area, and the whole skirt lifted (to the place im holding it in one of the pics) It also needs taking in as it was quite loose...so imagine it tighter.
