Hi everyone and sorry I haven't posted or commented for so long - it has been totally manic at work and I haven't had 2 minutes together!

Welcome to all the newbies - don't panic, I arranged my own wedding in less than 3 months and it went off perfectly - we are still married 33 years later, so it's all a lovely hazy memory now!

Nuttymummy your dress is beautiful, and I really hope you get it sorted so that you feel as beautiful as you look in it.

We are having a little problem at the moment with Catherine's Humanist celebrant. He has been booked for months, but they have never met up, he kept saying there is plenty of time. Originally they were going to meet in March, then in May, then he booked this Saturday and now he has cancelled that and it's 14 July before even the first meeting! We want to get orders of service etc finalised and can't do it without a service organised!

I emailed another last night but he is booked up - WhiteSapphire can you please PM me the name of yours, you are only over the bridge in Bristol and your celebrant might travel to Monmouth perhaps?

Everything else is sorted and booked, the invites are out, we just need a ceremony for people to attend!

What a nightmare Debbie! That is not on at all; I would be contacting the Humanist Society to report him if I were you. Have you paid him a deposit at all?

We met ours in March, and had had lots of information from her via phone and email before that; I have PM'd you her details, as well as the details of another celebrant who we considered who was also very helpful. I hope one of them is free for Catherine's date.

    x

Ummmm you may need a little bit longer than a couple of hours ;)

ha ha I know, Its just the way my brain works LOL

hmm thats a tough decision with there being a wedding too in Oz. I think id still got to the US though, only because its a honeymoon, and celebrating someones elses wedding kind of defeats the object of going to celebrate your own lol I would certainly be stuck feeling a little guilty though, its a tough one!

ha ha yeah weve stopped at Blackpool for the weekend, and Wales for the weekend etc, but if I ever had a honeymoon id just want it to be that bit extra special. Somewhere we have never been before and my first trip on a plane :D

Aww thank-you Debbiecatal *blush* im eagerly awaiting tomorrow to see what they can do with it :)

hmmm thats doesnt emit much confidence does it!? With someone keeping putting back dates like that you wonder what they are actually going to be like. Hope the new ones are able to help you out x

Hows everyone doing with RSVP's? Ive said the deadline for mine is 31st July (getting married on the 2nd Sept) and theres bound to be a few stragglers. We can have 60 and so far we only have 32. Im starting to get a little worried! many people are on holiday etc :(
We struggled finidng 60 people to ask in the first place ha ha. Im self employed, work on my own in the kitchen all day so I rarely get to see anyone other than my other half! and he works in a small office. We never go out anywhere...how sad is that, we have no friends PMSL. We are each others best friends, but when it comes to inviting people to your wedding its not exactly helpful lol :rotfl:

Tracey, we've given 28th July as our deadline for RSVPs; we've invited 82 people and had 46 replies so far. Not too worried at this stage, as I think a lot of people leave it late. I will be phoning round the non-repliers on 29th July though!!

ha ha I wrote that in the invites, 'RSVP by 31st July (or I will hunt you down bridezilla style!)' lol

trouble is we asked 60....and we know already about 8 arent coming. we are really struggling just to find 8 to replace them! (we pay for 60 guests no matter what..) So if more say they cant come, there is going to be no-one there! :( trouble is, I know LOADS of people, they just arent the people you ask to your wedding if you know what i mean?!
Im an avon rep, cake decorator, wedding tog, so i know lots of people and talk to them (customers, repeat customers), but it would be weird to ask them to your big day lol

    Hi Nutty,
Thats not sad at all, we were in exactly the same boat! When we wrote our guest list we had 60 people just & 10 of them were kids:eek: I'm not exactly a child person & the though of having 10 kids at my wedding was really a no no for me. I'm an only child & only have a small family all my grandparents have died:( & I don't have a massive circle of friends. OH has a brother & sister with children & a few friends, we were really strulling to find a venue to cater for us with those numbers on a Saturday in the summer, thats one of the other reasons we decided to go abroad. Our guest list is now 15 so it will be a lovely special group:D So don't worry your day will be amazing, I looked at your website the other day & it sound great.
Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

What you've also got to think Nutty is that photoshop has more than likely been used to give her that long neck/lots of chest being shown. Photoshop has a lot to answer for. :rotfl:

I think the dress looks really lovely on you. If you want more bling on it, get more bling on it. Sod what they say about it looking weird. It's your wedding dress :D

    Well said:T

Ive been so fussy over dresses it unreal!, too shiny, too big, too poofy, material too thin (show my belly! lol) dont like the design etc. So im miffed for letting myself buy it LOL

Roz, yes its a different neckline....though mine is a sweetheart (i think thats what they call it!?) so abit like the second picture...though mine come up too high, i feel all 'pushed upwards' if that makes sense?!

I go to try it on again in July...but all they are altering is the length of the front...nothing else :( and due to the design of the dress there no-where to put a sash...it has pleating and I thought about scattering a few along the pleats but they said it doesnt need it and may make the dress look odd. I should also say that my dress is silver lol

Ok I cant believe im going to do this...but here is a picture of me in the dress. Excuse the eyes shut, they caught me mid blink and im looking rather hot, sweaty and just abit miserable LOL

    scaled.php?server=36&filename=dscf8443t.jpg&res=landing

look ho far the boob part goes under my arms! I feel like i need to pull it down abit to feel comfy...but i cant due to the waist! ol
Ive got a silver dress too!! And it has bling on.
I think im still loving mine! :)
Although I cant see the picture of you in your dress, i can see the link, it looks lovely. But If you want bling on your dress...tell them you want bling on your dress!

Also when I was trying dresses on (im such a funny shape) everything felt horrendous, but they all said, just imagine what it could be like! Giving me size 10 dresses to try on...when i am so not anywhere near that size anymore.

Im going to carry on reading and catch up with everything now!

I posted previously about my sister dropping out, and my desperate need for some shoes.....I still need the shoes, but I called into Matalan the other day and they have said they will give me a refund or voucher if I take all 4 pairs of shoes back, but I really like what I chose! And they worked with their dresses....grrrr sisters.
Im soo pleased my daughter stuck up for me (also my maid of honour)
She told my sis she was being a diva, and took this as a massive insult.
But anyway its done now, and i probably wont see her till the wedding. Ill have to work on not doing the icy glare.
Anyway the same day it all kicked off, the htb's mam came around to ours with £500 for to book our honeymoon flights, yay we are going to Tenerife for 2 weeks....but we have nowhere to stay yet. We had decided to book somewhere, but when I phoned to booke they were going to charge us £200 more than what the chap on facebook had said. Grrr
so the hunt is still on, for shoes and somewhere to stay!
And my little netbook has just about had enough and decided not to work!
Oooo I really chuffed with the wine I have bought, I dont even know what it tastes like yet (might give one a try tonight)

My surname is Ovington :T.... soon to be King
Has anybody sorted out their passports yet into their married name?
Ill post a link later to our pre-wedding photo shoot. I was absolutely nervous. But from the pics, my chins show when i laugh, and i have such a cheeza smile :D

My hen night is in August and we are going to York, and getting dressed up in the theme of LMFAO.

Is anybody doing their own makeup?

Ive printed all my evening invites, but still dont know who i am going to give them too, I work in a large office, and its hard to pick and choose!

One thing that has gone way too smooth, was choosing my table centrepieces, Im having black table clothes with purple runner, and a kind of damask thing over the top (i love it) I never thought i would have candelabras, but they just went sooo good with everything else, my descision was made...just like that! which is rare for me!

lol bubbles, I could do with those spare invites to send
out again too! lol im down to my last one, and im going to need more!

I think theres about 15 kids on our list fawny! lol I dont mind having them there though as i have two of my own, and not letting kids come to a zoo would just be down right mean haha Your wedding sounds so intimate and special though, it will be awesome :) We chose venue before the amount of people though, and they have a minimum of 60 guests! eek!

and thank-you for visiting my website!! :) I love stuff like that ha ha

    thanks t*ovi,
I noticed there was another silver bride in this thread, i dont come across them often so thats ace :D
OOOOO looking forward to the engagement shoot pics! I really wanted some but just cant afford them.

Im not doing my own make-up (im terrible!) so im paying a really awesome girl to do my hair and make-up. I think it will chill me out more aswell knowing she knows exactly what shes doing and i can just sit there enjoying it :D

ha ha the table runner sound lovely, and I know just what you mean about the candelabras, I can tell they would go brilliantly with it. Im so indecisive too :) lol

Youve just reminded me of the 'last name' situation.

Who is taking the last name, whos double-barreling, whos keeping there own or is there any grooms taking your name?

Im lucky to be marrying someone with a nice last name BUT im SOOO attached to mine! and dont want to double barrel :( i still dont know what to do! He doesnt want to take mine, hes already changed his once when he was young due to parents etc lol
