Yeah we're having two - the first is a few days in Reykjavik which isn't coming out of the wedding budget as it's costing the same as our usual annual holiday so we'd be spending it as that, and then we're having a bigger holiday next year to either Oz or USA using wedding gifts to fund it. Feel very lucky, but OH & I have only been on holiday together three times in our 8 years together so we're milking this a bit.
Could you do the same? I don't know if you already have ideas about a gift list etc...0 -
USA!! Ive always wanted to go! I have the most ridiculous mind set though that I can drive down route 66 in 2 hours, see orlando, the grand canyon etc all within a couple of hours drive from each other PMSL
You are so lucky!! Enjoy EVERY minute of it
youve had more holidays than uswe have also been together 8 years, and I have never owned a passport ha ha. Everyone keeps telling me to go and get out there
we bought my mum and dad their first passports when they turned 60! they LOVE it! lol
I have a wedding website: http://www.mywedding.com/rothwell/
and the link to it is in all my invites, I have mentioned somewhere on it that if they wish to give us a gift (not that we expect any) could we possibly receive money. But I made it clear we dont expect anything at all:dance:

Nutty, where did you get your bare tree from? I've been looking for something like that for our wedding.
We went to a christening on the weekend and OH thought he'd wear his wedding suit to "break it in"...DD2 got fruit cake on his knee so now the suit needs to be dry cleaned *rollseyes* :rotfl:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Yeah some of us have been here ages, but there are a couple who have only joined last week - it can definitely be done :j0 -

Ummmm you may need a little bit longer than a couple of hours
It's still a toss-up between USA & Australia - our friends who we were staying with when we got engaged are themselves getting married next August so we'd really like to attend but I've been to Australia twice & OH has been once so we kinda want to go somewhere new (we've both been to the States before but seperately). I know I'm really lucky to have been able to travel so much - you should definitely get a passport and get out there. But then there is so much in this country to see and do, and the scenery can be just as beautiful as anywhere else in the world.
Even if you just go away with OH for a night or two in the UK it's a honeymoon - I don't think most newlyweds take much notice of their surroundings anyway0
