  • Ah looks like since I was last on everyone is a bit stressed :( it is pretty pressured trying to get everything done. I was feeling like that last week after a meeting with the hotel. They are fab but she just kind of hinted that there was a few things I needed to do sooner than I thought... so last night I typed up a big to do list with dates and who is responsible (remember ladies there is a GROOM on the go also ;) ) so feel a little better.

Taster cake from Markies arrives tomorrow and will decide based on that and get cake ordered. Then next is OH kilt getting ordered. Then...not entirely sure just going to look at April just now!! Just focus on one thing at a time it will all come together. As long as you and your GROOM get married remember that's the important thing :)

Cuddles all so glad we've got here to vent and support and get tips!!

I GOT MY DRESS TODAY!!!!
    :j
    :T

    :grouphug:

I just had to use all those smilies! :D:D:D

I went to a couple of shops today which I had appts at, then thought id nip to a place ive seen of on internet but doesnt have a web page, and i know its daft but dont normally bother with any business without a website! But this place was recommended to me, so i thought id give it a go. I didnt have an appt, and my mum was like, you cant just turn up without an appt!! But i said we should just bob in and have a look if we can. The lady was lovely, only one dress i liked but they had a sale room too and found 3 i liked from the sale rail. Tried the first one, it was ok, and tried the second one on and loved it! I really shouldnt tell how much it was, but i really want to and seeing as though this is MSE forum I can spill it to you guys - £150!!!! :T I suppose good things come to those who wait :D My mum and dad are paying for my dress and would have paid upto £1k for it, so they have said i can use the rest to put towards wedding. I love them!

Thanks for listening to my whinging over the last few months about my dress, ill try not to whinge again!

  • YAY NATALIE!!!!! :j:beer::j
I'm so pleased that you found your dress! That must be a weight off your mind.

Joanne, great to see you back, and another yay for you on collecting your dress! :D I think that people are feeling the pressure a little as time ticks ever onwards... I'm going through a phase of simply not wanting to look at my list, or the budget, because it seems a bit overwhelming at the moment. I'll get over it, and I'm actually not that far behind really, I just keep mulling over the scary fact that the wedding day will arrive whether we're ready for it or not!!

Tomorrow evening I will crack on with the invites, then next week I will buy the stamps, and book the caterers for our meal taster - we've chosen the main course to taste (pork tenderloin with apple and other yummy things), but still need to decide on veggie option, starter and dessert. Once that's done and I've had another dressmaking session I will feel a bit more relaxed I hope!

Oh yes it is, absolutely, can feel like i can actually start looking at other things to arrange :D Also seen a wedding car today at one of the wedding dress shops, the ladys husband does them, and even started looking at cakes this evening!
Joanne, great to see you back, and another yay for you on collecting your dress! :D

Yes, sorry Joanne, excellent news, im sorry, was just so excited to tell you all about my purchase that i hadnt even looked at everyones posts properly - just excited! LOL

Oh yes, each day seems to be flying by and i think im personally down to about 155 days to the day now!!! EEEK! And so it is overwhelming, unless you are Katie and super organised, and of whom we are very jealous of! ;)

And mmmmm, love pork and apple! Can i come? :)

Nat that's fantastic news, so happy for you :) and what a bargain!! When you tried the dress on, did you just "know"? I'm going to go to a dress shop next Sat and try a few on that are more like what I thought I'd have, so we'll see what happens...

Joanne, Yey about your dress! Glad you're happy with it :) how was the cake? Taking one thing at a time is a pretty sensible way of doing things.

White Sapphire, the menu sounds great :) I need to buy stamps this week - thanks for the reminder!!

Scotsbride - it's awful that people just assume that brides have no idea and will believe anything they're told! Glad you found someone you think you can trust - sometimes it's worth paying a bit extra to be confident in your suppliers :)

Catherine/Debbie well done on the stunning veil!

Crissy, Jammie & Gemma you all sound very organised!!

    This week I will...
Email meal venue to confirm menu choices & ask for wine suggestions
Email reception venue to say we've changed our mind about food and instead of a BBQ style buffet we now want pie & peas :D hopefully it's still possible within budget - I can't see why not?!
Contact ceremony registry office to arrange an appointment to see the room
Order invitation materials - really happy with the mock-up, just need to check the card goes through the printer...
    Dress shopping next Saturday

    5 months today :D

    Hi everyone,

I've not been on here in ages! Life has been far too busy recently. I've just spent the morning reading through everyones posts and everyones plans seem to be coming along nicely!

I think i'm more or less up together with everything. I've not sorted any flowers get though. Was originally going for artificial flowers but OHs Mum has a floristy friend who has just gone back into business and has offered to do us a deal- only problem we're having is getting hold of her!

Invites are all finished (all handmade by my amazing mum!) and ready to send out. Met with the wedding co-ordinator and the venue last weekend to confirm menu choices/drinks etc. BM dresses arrived the other day (got myself an amazing deal from BHS)... one of my BMs has just found out she is pregnant so we're leaving her dress for now and ordering it nearer the time. Luckily the dress I picked can be bought in a bigger size and altered to fit around her bump.

I've got 1st left to lose but really struggling with it. I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and eating really well but it just doesnt seem to be coming off :( My gym is offering a 1hr free personal trainer session at the moment so i'm thinking of booking one of them to see what they can suggest- most of my weight is round my middle... I'm happy with how i look in my dress, I just worry about what i'll look like in a bikini on my honeymoon lol.
