ok girls - can you help me with what i need to do? I think we have the major things sorted, but I am worried that I have forgotten something....

    We have sorted
    Church
    Reception (inc food and drinks)
    Table Linen
    Flowers
    Photographer
    Band for evening reception
    Cake
    Transport for guests
    OH's & groomsmen outfit
Make-up - will do my own

I am looking at/have ideas for:
    My dress
Bridesmaids (almost sorted, just need to arrange fitting)
    Brides' transport
Rings (just need to have OH sized and me to make a final decision between 2 rings i like)

Things I need to do but not sure what I want:
Invites - these are an issue, found something we like but out of budget, would love to make them myself but don't have the time (and from looing at cost of buying individual bits plus printer ink etc wouldn't save that much)
Hair - I will need someone to do it for me, but strggling to budget for this

The pressure of time is getting married has hit me - think its becausee we/'ve only been engaged for 6 weeks so has been mad busy!

the question is = have i forgotten anything?

    Thank you! BabyB

Looking at our list, we also have:

Music for ceremony and playlist for evening including first dance
    Readings and speeches
    Honeymoon/hotel for first night
    Favours/presents for helpers
    Order of service/order of day
    Going away outfit
    Table plan
Guest book (we are actually having a tree)

Some or all of these may be included in your list, but that's what I thought of - hope it helps!

    Morning All,

Just catching up with what's happening.

Nene - Your tiara is beautiful & I bet you looked great when you tried everything on together:D

    Hello to Kaz-t20 & Autumbride:wave:

Roz-v Great news on getting the suits sorted & the rings - I have to say our H2B do brush up well in a suit:D

The table theme sounds great Joanne - I hope your parents get a lovely suprise been a famous couple for the day:D

AutumBride - the jewellery sounds a great deal & is very pretty:D

babyb06 - Really glad the dress shopping was better than you expected & hope that you find the one soon:D I'm sure you will.

Glad to hear all is going well Midlands Fairy & good to hear from you again.

As i've said i'm having my destination dress made so i've not been round any dress shops to try any on. I love the design of my dress I just hope it looks good on me with not trying any on, just keep thinking what if it does not look right when it's made:o

I have now booked a room at the hotel where my folks are staying for the night before the wedding. I was going to leave H2B on the morning of the wedding & me & my BM where going to go use my folks room to get ready but Dad has decide there will be too many of us, wedding coordinator, hairdresser, photographer, me,BM & them:eek: So he has paid for me a room of my own so will now leave H2B late on the Sunday afternoon & spend the evening with parents elsewhere so it will be 24hours till I see him at the chapel so will make it all the more special now:j

Hope everyone is ok & enjoying the sun while it lasts.

  • Morning ladies,

Sorry to bring the thread down, but I need to vent. :(

I was chatting with my mum yesterday about my niece and when a baptism was going to be organised for her. I remarked that I still hadn't heard anything about my best friend (and MoH)'s daughter's baptism, whereupon my mum said "but I thought she got baptised last year?"

    Um, what?

Now, my mum is friends with best friend's mum, although they're not especially close, so either Mum has got the wrong end of the stick when friend's mum mentioned a possible date which then didn't happen, or best friend, having asked me to be godmother, has gone and baptised her daughter without telling me.....

I'm trying really hard to believe that Mum just got into a conversation with friend's mum who was saying something like "oh, the baptism will be some time in October" and Mum assumed when it came to the end of October that the baptism would have happened. Because if I am wrong then that means that best friend not only changed her mind about my being godmother (which actually I could understand, given that I am not a believer) but went behind my back to have what is a very important event for her, without involving me in any way. The conclusion being that I am simply not an important part of her life anymore.

I cannot stop it going round and round in my head, and have not been able to get through to my friend to talk to her.

Not expecting any advice, as all I can do is speak to her (which I will do on the pretext of general chat, not having heard a word from my mum), but I can't get through, and it's really upsetting me.
:heart::heart: Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012 :heart::heart:

    Hi Fiona

Big hugs to you:grouphug: Sorry to hear you are feeling down , I really hope you manage to get through to your best friend soon & get this sorted out. Fingers crossed your Mum has got the wrong end of the stick, she is your best friend & your MOH so it sounds like you are important to each other. I'm sure she would not go behind your back, if she had changed her mind about you been godmother surely she would have spoken to you. As for not been a beliver I don't see why that should make any difference at all, in my view a good godmother is someone who is there for the child when she needs you & to help bring them up & support them, guide them & you sound such a person to me. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Ok happy talk - how is your dress coming on, have you had much chance to work on it. Have you made many dresses before I'm assunimg you have if you are brave enough to make your wedding dress:D How are you getting on sorting out the wording for your cemerory?

We have decided that we are going to write our own personal vows to each other to make it more special. The greek vows are very short & a large chunk of them talk about our duty to raise a family:eek: & we are not having a family so the wedding planner says we can have that section removed so it makes the vows very short.

I'm rather excited today as me & BM are going off to Solihull tomorrow to shop for her dress:j Really looking forward to it, we have never been shopping together before as we normally meet up & take the dogs for long walks & then have tea all together but tomorrow us girls are shopping & the boys are walking the dogs & prepairing dinner:D Hopefully they will have wine chilled ready as well for when we get back. Fingers crossed we will find something for her, should do i've seen sever lovely dresses on the Coast & Phase Eight websites, so just hope they have them.

Hope things look up for you soon.

Awww Fiona :grouphug: big hug to you. It sounds to me like it's your mum getting the wrong end of the stick, and I hope that's the case. Feel free to rant on this thread - that's what you said to me when I was going through my rough patch and it helped so much! Let us know how you get on. :grouphug:

Fawny, good luck with the BM dress shopping! Writing your own vows sounds lovely :) We're just having the standard registry office vows, but asking the registrar to do a reading at the introduction to "pad it out" a bit!

OH has an ice hockey game tomorrow afternoon and the rink is next door to a Hobbycraft, so I'm going to pop in and suss out paper weights etc. I have a rough idea as I used to work for an Ad Agency and spent half my life talking about paper and finishes :rotfl: I'm also going to have a look at silk orchids as I've changed my mind about table centrepieces and now want something more like this to give a bit of height to the room:

 Eeek sorry for the massive images!!!

We went to visit the evening venue on Wednesday evening, and have pretty much finalised food (BBQ buffet with mini dessert selection), seating plans etc... They were fantastic - I had been panicking about numbers and budget but they calmed me right down and I feel much happier :)

Have a great weekend everyone - hope this weather continues although the forecast doesn't look very promising xxx

Hi all, just quickly dropping into ask if anyone needs any help buying their wine?

I have a voucher for £40 off any case of wine worth £59.99 or more from Naked Wines (next day delivery is £4.99). It is valid for 30 days from yesterday (30/03/12)

We've already bought all of our wine so if anyone wants it, they're welcome to private message me and I'll give you all the code and password and all the details.

I only have the one voucher, so first come, first served, i'm afraid!

    Hope this helps someone!

    Edit: It's gone!
