Hi guys haven't been on for what seems forever thought I'd give an update to what's happening so far like I said in my last post nearly everything sorted b'maid dresses where from debenhams finally ordered got them for £66 instead of £95 so please with that didn't realise until I paid for the groomsmen you get
A 10% discount for paying all in one so awesome savings! Cars I took your advice white sapphire and got a classic Car for next to nothing compared to the dealers still need to sort florist but my friends mum is one which I just recently found out so hopefully discounted
Flowers :) rings I've got to order but me and my hubby to be decide to make it more personal and have fingerprinted rings I looked and they were around £600! But after a lot of troweling the Internet I finally got both for £120!! So another bonus can't believe how well we all are doing an only 5 months to go!! Keep up the good work guys!!

Nat - any update on the dress?

    Congratulations and welcome BabyB

LouiseMay - your plans sound lovely :) I would LOVE a wedding like that. Good luck telling your mum about the wedding :) You have who you want to walk you down the aisle - the way my family have behaved recently they're lucky I'm not asking the cat to give me away :rotfl:

Starrystarrynight - Great that your OH can wear what he wants within budget! A wrist corsage would look fab - there's loads on ebay if you want inspiration.

joanneinwonderland - your plans have come on amazingly. I can't believe how quickly time is flying by! Sweetie overload sounds like heaven to me :rotfl:

nene - congrats on finishing the invites, and yey for hair, make up and the tiara is gorgeous! Let us know what it's like when it arrives as I quite like the look of some of the seller's other items. Your invites are lovely too

White Sapphire - what a shame about the fabric - fingers crossed you get your money back. And yey for the MoH fabric and MoB outfit - love the "cost per wear" theory, I use that all the time!

    Welcome Jammy

    Beckistar - you're very organised!!

I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks taking some time away from planning the wedding. My sister had her 20wk scan and found out that she's having a little boy, but that his left forearm and hand haven't developed. She's had lots of extra scans and hospital appointments and they're now fairly certain that he'll be able to bend his elbow and move the top of his arm normally; we won't know 100% whether there are any learning difficulties until he's born, but it's looking pretty hopeful right now. It took me a long time to get my head around the fact that she's even having a baby, but she's behaving so maturely and is handling everything so well that I'm just bursting with pride. :A

OH & FiL are having their suit fittings this weekend so I'm going along to help them draw up a "shortlist" of permissable outfits for them to choose from. This way I'll not know for sure what he's chosen until the day, but I know I won't be offended by it :rotfl: We're also going to try on wedding rings to decide for certain what we want, and I need to go to Hobbycraft to look at card stocks and maybe buy some samples for trial runs of the invitation before buying in bulk online.

We're also having wobbles about the seating plans and food style. Originally we had said 100 seats (123 adults, 14 kids under 12 & 7 babies) and a BBQ style buffet, but we're now thinking that maybe we should seat everyone, but if we do that then there won't be enough room for the buffet table so would have to have a sit-down meal. Trying to figure out a way to have an informal sit-down... Any ideas? Our budget is only £10ph so we're quite limited. Going to try and meet with the venue in the next couple of weeks to see if they have any suggestions...

    Hi, just nosing around... :o

Roz- have you considered an afternoon tea for a sit down meal? We are having it for £12pp. It's a large tea as well, 1.5 sandwiches, 2 scones, mini cake bites etc. oh and the tea! It can be a formal take on a Buffett in my opinion...

But I will go back to lurking now.... :o

    Hello lurker

Yes we considered afternoon tea, but as we're hosting guests from 4.30 onwards and serving food at 6.30, we think they'll need something more substantial. Hoping that the venue will be able to do "platters" of some sort, so each table gets a mini-buffet...
  • Thank you, Scotsbride! I'll check out the tartan ribbon :-)
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!
