I'd say something like
"LouisaMay and OH want to keep things simple, and invite guests to camp overnight at the reception venue. So if you want to join in the fun, please bring a tent, camper or caravan. If that's not for you, here are some local Hotels/hostels/B&B (whichever you want) for you to stay at."
If you want, I can post pics of the inserts that are going with mine? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Thanks neneromanova, that would be really helpful. I really want everyone to do camping, but obv some of the older guests won't want to do that.0

Ah nene your tiara is lovely and your invites are beautiful too!! If you scroll back I think I've got photo's posted of mine. They are a bit silly but I like them
Ah I know excitement is building for me too just trying to keep focussed on the diet and keep calm haha!!
Louisamay good for you deciding re BM's etc. you can choose who ever you want and you need people who you can rely on and who you know will want to help you make your day everything you want it to be. Defo don't want anyone on your team that's not on your side if that makes sense. When I've been BM in the past all I think about is the bride and whether she's ok and if she needs anything. In saying that a big part of my job was to dance and enjoy myself too I felt....:p

Hello Ladies,
babybo6 i'd check with a few dress shops regarding when you need to order by as I know a few people who have said it's taken months for their dress to come in so best to check. I'm sure other brides order their dresses & then lose weight.
neneromanova - i adore your invites they are so lovely & the information sections are great, you must be so pleased:D When are you sending them out?
Natc - how are you getting on with finding a dress, any luck yet? I've got my fingers crossed for you:D
Hello again Lousiamay - good to hear from you, having a ceildh for your reception sounds really good fun, although i'd be one of your boring guests who would want a hotel & not a tent:rotfl:
Hi Starrynight - how many people are going to the States with you? It all sounds very exciting. I know what you mean about less planning, we are in the same situation having a wedding planner do most of the stuff for us, sometimes if fustraters me that I haven't got much to do:p
Joanne - Sounds like everything is going great & :j on getting your dress & head wear sorted out, May will soon be here for you to try it all. I used to go to thr Lakes a lot when I was a child it's a lovely place so i'm sure you will enjoy your minimoon.
Making your own confetti sounds a great idea Scotsbrides & fun too:D
I've decided that i'm going to make the name cards for the table thats about as crafty as I can get as i'm not very good at that sort of stuff. I've ordered a big pack of place cards off ebay, which will have about 30 too many in it but at least I have practise ones:rotfl:i'm going to buy some orange bows from a craft shop in town as they do small packs, all the ones on ebay had far too many in. The plan is to stick the bows on them to make them look pretty & write the names in silver or gold something like that. On the inside of the card we are going to write the meal options people have choosen as I know people will forget & i don't want to have to keep telling people what they choose.
Well i'd better do some work now:(Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Hi fawny! A wedding planner sounds wonderful! Our officiant is being absolutely great in offering lots of suggestions for open air (and free!) locations for our ceremony. I'm using this week off work to do some more research. What did we ever do before Google!
We think no more than 10 will be coming over with us, funds permitting. I wish my Dad was coming, but he feels there's no way he could travel all that way, so I understand. It's a good job I'm not traditional, I'll be giving myself away LOL. I'll miss my family and a few very close friends not being there, but we'll get it all on a digi camera for them to see afterwards :-)
We have a couple of friends over there who will also attend which means a lot to us, too. This will be our fourth trip to CA. We love it so much and wanted to be married there :-)From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
Wow it's great to see so many people back and everyone moving forward! Welcome back everyone, it's looking good!
Natc please let us have an update on the dress situation - how's it going?
We spent Saturday afternoon watching the Wales Grand Slam on the tv and making bunting at the same time - we made 80 'bunts' in the 80 minutes of the match, only another 130 to go.
We have also decided not to have any balloons as we have someone in the main wedding party with a balloon phobia. We wanted something, though, so we are making tissue paper pompoms of various sizes in the wedding colours to hang in the place of balloons. I am currently practising making them!0 -
are you planning on freezing the petals or drying them (say in airing cupboard)? i have been looking at ways to do it online, but not sure which is best
dry them it's easier and they'll keep longer plus don't have that much room in the frezzer-see below
babyB
babyb06, I have not really started looking for a dress yet. I want high-street though, so I don't know what the lead time is on the fancy ones.[/QUOTE]- lead time in up to 6 months on fancy ones!
Hi
Am not a September 2012 bride (August 2012 instead), but can I be cheeky and ask how you make your own confetti????:)
of course
you will need flower (6 roses will make another confetti to fill one paper cone)
salt
plastic storage box with air tight lid
heavy stone or weight.
a cooling rack
plate
instructions
pull apart the petals gently. place on cooling for 3hrs in a warm sunny place. then in storage box sprilling salt between each layer. finsh with a layer of salt. place weight on plate on top of petals in the air tight box place box in somewhere like a airing cupboard for 4-6wks.:):kisses3: Married 29th September 20120 -
