Ah Nat that's rubbish :grouphug: could you make the "big" shoes fit using an insole? remember also that the Veromia one you tried wouldn't fit right because it's only a sample and not made for you.

Have you tried any dresses on in different styles other than the above? I have ended up with a dress which is completely different to anything I ever thought I'd like.

    Hi Roz,

Thanks. Yes ive tried other dresses on and this style, the a line ones, seem to look better on me, i got big hips but a little waist and they skim over and make me look more in proportion :)

I like the veromia one, but you can really see the corset through the dress and the all way round where it stops :( I was really upset yday, i know it sounds daft. But i just cant seem to find a dress and put it on, and think oh wow! I love it! Other girls do, i cant understand why i cant! :(

    Hi Natc,

Sorry to hear you didn't manage to find something, i'm sure you will soon. Have you though about having one made for you? I'm having mine made & it's a lot more reasonable than you might think, mine is a lot lot cheaper than anything new id looked at.

    Hello all!

My OH proposed at the end of February and we have set a date for 8 September 2012!!!! - 200 days from proposal to wedding! Eek! That doesn't sound long at all!

We have the church and venue booked so hopefully everything else will slot into place - am I being a little overly optimistic?!

We already have a few glitches - not least our 'no children' policy - most people are surprised that includes babies.......now maybe it is because i am not a mother but a thought a baby would obviously be included! Anyway it looks like our wedding will be a lot smaller than planned as family are saying they don't want to come without their kids. We can't invite the kids as it would add around 25-30% more guests to the wedding - we can't afford it! Nor do we want to have to hire a children's entertainer - we have a v grand venue and want a grown up affair!

Maybe we are being unreasonable but this is what we envisaged as our dream day. I am fine with people not coming if they don't agree - just don't moan about it! And as I know you regularly have babysitters for nights out (and one couple for a whole weekend away) don't tell me you couldn't bear to be parted from your kids. Is my anger coming through?! Please point me to the Bridezilla thread!

Anyway..... apart from that glitch everthing going well. Some wedding suppliers are saying we're mad, no one will be available with that short a notice, but as I see it a shorter time scale focuses the mind!

    Next big thing - photographer.....

    Hi BabyB,
    Congratulation & welcome:j

I'm sure there is enought time to get things sorted & you might get some deals too. You stick to your guns on the chldren policy if thats what you want. My H2B has a few yong children in his family & i;d always said it;s my worse nightmare having kids at the weding, the though of them crying in church & running around ruining things. We don't have that problem now we are getting wed abroad because they won't come:D

Have you been dress shopping yet, do you know what you want. Look forward to hearing your plans.

    Hi BabyB

Congratulations! And you can really do a wedding in 200 days - I got engaged at Easter and was married on June 23rd - 100 days! It was frantic but everything just slotted into place and we got a lot of deals such as 1/2 price cars because no one else would be booking them! It's very different with my daughter's wedding this September, we seem to have been planning it for decades! (Even though it's only 20 months really) :)

Aw, Natalie, I'm sorry that dress shopping is not going well!! Have a dodgy-looking hug :grouphug:

I know you'll get there with it, but it must be upsetting to not find what you want. I would second Fawny's idea of looking at getting one made; it can be very reasonable compared to bridal shop prices.

I have my fingers permanently crossed that you find something soon, and I'm sorry I can't be more help. x

Welcome and congratulations BabyB!! You have been added to the first post :D

I think you'll be fine with the timescale; lots of people do it! Just let us know if there's anything you need help with.

I agree with Fawny on sticking to your guns re no children; if you don't want them there, and your H2B is in agreement, then that's fine! Feel free to have a rant on here when people's grousing becomes too much to deal with!! ;)

Debbie - 100 days??? You must have been bonkers... :p

    I sooo want them,

    Hellooo!!

Those are amazing - very glam, I love them!! I've found them a bit cheaper here: http://www.DreamHomeFurnishings.com/Jeweled-Black-Cake-Stand-Set-3-p/cc-239827.htm

Can't find anything similar but cheap though! You may have to resign yourself to scouring vintage fayres, never again walking past a second hand shop without going in for a quick look, saving a search on ebay etc....
