Wow Catherine, you have been busy! Well done on the flowers, they look lovely, you did really well to get them all done in a day!
Roz...the dress is gorgeous, where is it from? You really dont have to worry about it being "bridal", it looks beautiful.

Ive always thought that I wouldnt like a veil, and been reluctant to even try one on, but i did end up trying one on recently, and quite liked it!! LOL Im considering just wearing one for the cermony.

My comp is going mad! So my post has had to be split into a few, think it must be the pics?!0

Im feeling a lot more positive today
I went wedding dress shopping yesterday, my OH took me, bless him, to a few shops that were a bit more out of the way (im not confident in driving out of my comfort zone!). He didnt come into the shops though!!! One shop had a room available so i could try a couple on that id easily picked out...i definately know my style now!
I loved one of them i tried, so now i think it will be between the two below.....0 -

The 1st dress i did try on with the black embellishments but it can be ordered with different coloured embellishments, i quite like silver stitching, or they also do a very pale pink stitching which im not sure if it would look great with my Dusky Pink theme, or look horrible! Its also in Satin which i dint think id like.
So, my mum, and possibly my friend, are coming with me next saturday to see me in the 1st dress, and the 2nd dress is in another shop but will be the first time id have tried it on. FINGERS CROSSED!
I have also ordered my shoes online today! And very MSE....Yeaaahhh! :jI was going to buy them last year from Next at full price, but they went into the sale and sold out of my size before i got round to it! But just had a look to see if they had any new stock but came accross my shoes in the sale again...in my size...at £14!!! They are a little plain, but i could always get a brooch or those shoe decoration thingys if i want a bit more bling!
Sorry for the many posts, its just would let me post it all at once - no good with the pic thingy.:o How do you post pics from net on here so that you can click on them and it takes you to the page so that you can enlarge it without having massive pics on this thread like one of mine above....i dont even know how i did that!

Hi nat, my dress is from Monsoon. I haven't really tried any other dresses on, it was a bit of an impulse buy and now I daren't try any "proper" dresses in case I like them :rotfl:
I love the first dress, can't really see the second one coz I'm on my iPad but it looks pretty toocould the shop get you a sample of the pink stitching to see if you like it & think it would work? Though silver would look really pretty too, we're now including some silver in our pink theme due to my dad being awkward!
And Yey for the shoes, very MSE!!! Don't worry too much about them being plain though, who's going to see them really? x0 -
Hi Roz. Oh yes, i know what you mean...would be totally a bad idea to try others on now! Well i think your dress looks beautiful, and if you like it, and you look beautiful in it, there is no need to even look at other dress
And look at me, its now 13 dress shops ive been in and still not got my dress! out of all those dress shops theres only 2 dresses ive really liked, and thats a lot of dresses being tried on! So you are not missing out! LOL
Ooooh yes, i will ask them if they can get one in for me to tryThe only thing with that dress im not overly keen on is that the fabric is not all one piece, its all sewn together and you can see the lines down, and i feel it could look "cheap"???!
I know! I am well pleased with my purchase! Ive ordered couple of sizes to try on as they are apparently big sized, so hopefully one will be a nice fit. They are getting delivered to the store on Fri, so i may be able to take them on sat with me to try on with dresses! Yeeeeaaaahhh!
And...isnt it usually the mothers who are awkward?!! Your dad and my dad must be from the same breed!0 -
Hello Ladies,
Hope you are all well.
Catherine the rings look lovely as do the flowers, sounds like you are having a great time making them:D
White Sapphire - the dress is looking amazing you are so clever:T How did you get on with the silk screen printing go?
Natc - not long until you go to try the dresses on, hope you find your dream one. Just seen the pics of the ones you posted I adore the first one it looks amazing, keeping my fingers crossed for you:D
Roz-V Really greats news on the holiday inn sorting rooms & organising the guests for you:j Good news on your Dad agreeing on your suits too.
I went shopping at the weekend & we managed to get my Mums dress, it's a Phase Eight in choclate brown, but it looks lovely & will go amazing with her orange flower:D I also decide that my mum was right about the shoes I had in that they were too high for me, i've been wearing them round the house but I did feel a bit unstable which is no good. Anyway my Mum spotted these & they look great so these are now my wedding shoes. Need to see if I can sell the other ones.
I'm wearing an orange necklace & have orange beads in my tiara & flowers are orange so will look great. Also went & tried the first part of my dress on it's looking good & even though it was only like a full lenght underneath skirt it looked great. I'm sorry I didn't get any pics:o but promise I will next time.
Regarding hair, I was chatting to my hairdresser & she said I could book in for a bridal trail with them & then I can take pics of it to show the hairdressers in Lindos how I want it so I think i'm going to do that.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Hi ladies! Well done on your dress hunting Natalie; both dresses are beautiful, although my personal preference is for the first one as the shape of the bodice is gorgeousOoooh yes, i will ask them if they can get one in for me to try

The dress has to be made up of panels of fabric, as if it were all one piece it wouldn't have that lovely shape. Any dress, apart from very simple column or A-Line skirts, will have seams like that. It doesn't make it look cheap, don't worry!Hello Ladies,
Hope you are all well.

Thank you t'other Fiona! Haven't managed to do the silkscreen printing yet, as my embroidery hoop has gone AWOL! I'll post pictures as soon as I can, promise...
Shoes are fab, and yay on the dress fitting! You have to take photos next time, or I'll sulk! :rotfl: Great idea on the hair trial too.
I now have a make up artist, who will do my mum's, MoH's and my make up for around £170, which I think is pretty good! She's sent me details of a hairdresser she knows as well, so I'll get in touch hopefully today.
H2B and I went to see the caterers on Wednesday evening. They were lovely, and very accommodating of our needs and budget, so that was good. Just waiting for them to cost up different options for dessert, and then we'll book a tasting to coincide with a birthday or our anniversary!
More work done on the dress yesterday; piccies HERE! Password is Sep2012
The bodice is still giving me grief (can't seem to get the back right ), but we have now started attaching the skirt pieces, so at least it's starting to look like an actual dress now! Front and back pieces attached, and the side panels will go on when we've got the bodice right and attached the zip. Then it will just be the skirt lining, hemming, and any beading if I decide I want it; doesn't sound much when I put it like that! :rotfl: I'm thinking of possibly sewing crystals to the back, where the bodice and skirt meet, but not sure yet.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to come on here and sulk...!!! Im in despair, i tried all those dress on yesterday and didnt really like any of them!actually could cry! Really worried that im not going to be able to get something i like in time. Had another nightmare last night that the dress i bought was one i just got and didnt really like it, so was really upset on my wedding day.... i dont want that!
I think my favourite was the veromia one, i can have the black embelishments in pink, but it just didnt seem to fit nicely. Back to the drawing board, and dont feel i have the time to do it...anyone else not got their dress yet??!!
And to top it off, the shoes i ordered didnt fit! Got them in two sizes to make sure one of them did fit, but one was too small, one was too big : (
