Hi, thanks for the welcome!
We don't really have a theme, its going to be quite traditional. Our colour is dark purple.
I have made a couple of mock-up invites but can't decide exactly what I want. I like the idea of the wallet type like Nene's (they are amazing by the way, mine are not going to be anywhere near that good!!) but after spending a long time making one very rough one I couldn't then decide what extra information I needed to give people on the cards in the 'wallet'. Most of our guests live close by so its not necessary to have an 'accomodation' card, the meal is set so 'menu choices' isn't an option. I could do reply card and gift but now I am wondering whether its worth all the effort fo just those 2 things??
What has everyone else chosen for their first dance? Me and my OH can't seem to agree on a single song. We both have songs we love, but we don't like the others' choices!!
Hairstyle - I am struggling to find a hairstyle that is going to look good with a veil.
Thanks for your help everyone!!0 -
Love the flowers Neme!
great value!
Took OH to sort out suits yesterday, he looked soooo handsome in his tails! The dads are just having short jacket suits but they scrubbed up well too. We also decided on which wedding rings we'd like, so we'll order them online in the next few days. It's all starting to feel very real...0 -
Happy Sunday everyone how are you all?
Nene those flowers are fabulous very very pretty!! Are they foam? Love the hot pink it's gorgeous. Your tiara is so nice too. Eeek exciting ladies!! I have a side tiara I got from Glitzy Secrets the website is great well worth a browse and it was such quick delivery and in a lovely box. If you like them on facebook you get discount codes etc. so I managed to get moolah off too.
We have FINALLY decided on a table theme so it's famous couplesbut we are going to throw our parents into the mix too hee hee!! Managed to get a wedding photo of both so that's perfect. Not going to tell them so will be quite funny on the day. Just need to pull together pics and print and laminate etc...just need to borrow a laminator now!!
Hi Kaz welcome to September 2012 wedding club!! As for hair will you take your veil off later or will you wear it all day? If you plan to take it off try not to worry about hair going with it as it won't be for too long really. If you plan to wear all day I would google image hairstyle with veil and see what comes up? Think about if you want it down around your face or off your face but still some length at the back. Do you have a hairdresser you go to regularly who could suggest something?
Sunny here today!! Hooray hopefully we will get a long hot summer right to 30 September :TWhat's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -
Yeah the flowers are foam. Feel really lovely.
I tried on my Dress and Accessories together yesterday. It was amazing seeing them. I even took some photo's but they didn't come out great as I couldn't do the dress up myself so looked weird and loose. :rotfl:
I can't believe it's getting so close. I bet everyone is soooo excitedWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Hi everyone!!
Wow its going quick now isn't it? and so much to do still!
Finally chose my wedding jewellery! My mums bought me the necklace for my birthday present which was really kind- but whats best of all is that Jon Richard at Debenhams are currently having 10% off (lady at till in store gave me voucher) all the Jon Richard collection!!!
I bought the matching earrings myself- gorgeous, expensive looking but only cost £15!
The stuff is very nice- and affordable.!!
Hope the link works!

Hi all!
Hope you all had a good weekend
Nene - i love your invites! I can't believe you made them! Did you print all the inserts yourself and if so do you have a super posh printer? Have been thinking about making our own invites but not sure how cost effective it will be once we have purchased lots of ink (my printer uses so so much!) etc.
Joanne - that is a wonderful table theme - expecially including your parents in it!
Can't believe that you are all so organised and sorting out the finishing touches! We are doing well though - another couple of things ticked off the list this week including the music.
Unfortunately we didn't love the photographer we met last week, it was an ok meeting and most of the albums were nice, but I wasn't wowed, plus for some strange reason we didn't really gel. Going to meet someone else tonight, so fingers crossed!
Also tried on some dresses over the weekend - it wasn't as bad as i had expected! I actually found a few dresses i like (one was alfred angelo and the other amanda wyatt), but unfortunately the shops only stock one size and it is too small for me, so whilst i have tried them on they were open at the back and so you can't see the whole effect and it worries me that i will be buying a dress i haven't 'properly' tried on.
Have rung round various shops in the area but the biggest size i have found it is size 14 and i will be buying a size 20! Trying on more dresses tomorrow, but think i'll be finding the same issue, although one is a plus size shop, but have to say not wowed by the pcitures on thier website.

Hi All,
I joined ages ago but havn't posted since, life just got a bit manic! But a few things have been put aside now meaning I can getting the posts in a daily email- tho I've not been posting it's been great to know others are in the same boat! Everyone's been so creative!
Babyb- I had a some similar feelings with dress hunting- wasn't looking forward to it, put it off for ages, had a demoralising experience with dresses that didn't close (like u say, very hard to see where seams will go etc if it's not in the right place), nothing seemed what I'd had in my mind, eugh. Anyway, I ended up going to a bridal store with a plus size floor (I'm a 16/18 in normal clothes) and it was super. Didn't have to stick to one end of a rail, or fall in love with a dress to find it stopped at a 14. They were recommended by a colleague- Elderberry Brides in Basingstoke.
This wk we're meeting our vicar to sort service details, and next wk the caterer to try and decide on our food, it feels good to be doing the actual nuts anbolts stuff. Oh and I'm still drowning in bunting- 221 triangles sewn, 239 left to do :S
P.s Nene- so excited to see your pocketfold- yippee!- We're having them too, love the pockfold look and with people travelling it's great for giving info! Yours have made me really excited to get ours finished as yours look ace!Very excited to be marrying my partner in crime for the last 7 years in September 2012 :jNo longer a midlandsfairy... back living in the sunny south!0 -
Edit* (Life just got a bit manic! But) a few things have been put aside now meaning I can focus on the wedding more and I've been (getting the daily emails...)
Wonder how I managed to cut out a whole sentence between writing and clicking post? D'oh!Very excited to be marrying my partner in crime for the last 7 years in September 2012 :jNo longer a midlandsfairy... back living in the sunny south!0 -

I spoke to My dad about this before we got them printed (He used to work in the printing industry) And he said you have to be careful with thicker paper as the colours tend to bleed and look rubbish.
I went to my local Printing place and they charged £1.60 per A3 page printed!! And I had to get 45 printed!! Luckily My dad knows the guy so he gave me them at a discounted price of 63p per A3 sheet so it was £35 for all the printing. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
ok girls - can you help me with what i need to do? I think we have the major things sorted, but I am worried that I have forgotten something....
We have sorted
Church
Reception (inc food and drinks)
Table Linen
Flowers
Photographer
Band for evening reception
Cake
Transport for guests
OH's & groomsmen outfit
Make-up - will do my own
I am looking at/have ideas for:
My dress
Bridesmaids (almost sorted, just need to arrange fitting)
Brides' transport
Rings (just need to have OH sized and me to make a final decision between 2 rings i like)
Things I need to do but not sure what I want:
Invites - these are an issue, found something we like but out of budget, would love to make them myself but don't have the time (and from looing at cost of buying individual bits plus printer ink etc wouldn't save that much)
Hair - I will need someone to do it for me, but strggling to budget for this
The pressure of time is getting married has hit me - think its becausee we/'ve only been engaged for 6 weeks so has been mad busy!
the question is = have i forgotten anything?
