Woohoo! We got our Sky+ fitted yesterday and it is great. What makes it even better is that we got a new box! The engineer said they had run out of refurbished boxes so we got a new one instead. Very pleased with our £49 bargain!0

2nd phone call straight through to cancellations, told them my existing skybox is faltering(true..but you can use this method if you want) and instead of replacing like for like i asked about the £49 pound refurb, and also pointed out that i have been with SKY for around ten years and without no default payments ect ect( lay it on thick) he went of to find some sort of supervisor and he came back with the good news, did not threaten to cancel or anything like that...well happy, installation on thursday
is that with multiroom?
got my letter of cancellation yesterday also email saying no more refurbs left0 -
My wife called on Thurs to cancel and was offered refurb unit for £49.00. Been installed today, got a Pace 3000. Kids now say they want Multiroom added after originally saying they didn't.......argh!!! Is it just a matter of calling Sky again and paying the extra tenner a month?0

YOu will pay the extra £10 a month but they might want some installation fees from you to wire it all up? And presumably a second sky card as your original one has gone into the Sky +. Not sure how much that costs...
Saying that though, as an existing customer you can now get Sky + for £99 if you take multiroom, so the maximum extra they should really ask you for is £50, but not sure if it will work like that!
The engineer that fitted our Sky + asked us if we wanted to keep the old Sky box or if we wanted 'to return it', which is a bit cheeky seeing as it is our property!!
There was a Pace 3000 box (but no Sky card) on Ebay for £150 today!0 -
He never made any attempt to take away my old Pace box. He used existing leads so I have all the new leads in the packets still. I also have another old all black Pace box. I take it I can't have multiroom in 2 rooms in addition to Sky+ without paying a second £10 per month?0

I don't think so. I was trying to work out what to do with our old Sky box (other than selling it on Ebay), I think without the additional Sky card you are stuffed really, as although I think you can get free to air channels like BBC without a Sky card, you still have to pay to get the box wired up to the dish. No doubt some of the experts out there will put me right!0 -
Wednesday night and all was completd - sky returned the 49+40installation and just charged me for 49.00, def have three months half pricer and waiting for them to give me another three months cos they missed the first install date ...brand new box and got to keep the old box and the unused leads - great product isnt it!0

You should have asked him what his eBay user id was :rotfl:0 -
I got mine installed a week ago. The first box they gave me (the old style HUGE boxes) was broken so was replaced with a brand new box (the new style small ones)!!
Secondly, i hadnt ordered multi-room or anything but the engineer asked what i wanted to do with my old box. Now, i didnt tell a lie, just said it was going in the kids room. The next i knew the box was hooked up in the bedroom!! I hadnt asked them to hook it up so (hopefuly) Sky cant say anything and i cant be charged for it!

I just phoned up to cancel and was offered the £49 Sky+ deal. We are genuinely moving house and so could have cancelled and picked up as a new customer (she pointed out that if we were at the same address they would not allow the new customer deal - but as we would have moved they could not detect that!) - but, as we have been Sky customers since literally the first couple of months they first started, thought the loyalty card may prove useful in the future.
Anyway the deal is £49 plus £40 to install. Wasn't able to discount the packages but the cheapest one that drops the £10 monthly sky+ charge is Movies plus Value pack at £33 a month. We could have had that for three months half price instead - but if you do the maths its about the same price so at least going with the discounted box you have something to show for your savig when it ends :-)0
