Sky Discount For Existing Customers

Rokkster wrote:I just phoned up to cancel and was offered the £49 Sky+ deal. We are genuinely moving house and so could have cancelled and picked up as a new customer (she pointed out that if we were at the same address they would not allow the new customer deal - but as we would have moved they could not detect that!) - but, as we have been Sky customers since literally the first couple of months they first started, thought the loyalty card may prove useful in the future.
Anyway the deal is £49 plus £40 to install. Wasn't able to discount the packages but the cheapest one that drops the £10 monthly sky+ charge is Movies plus Value pack at £33 a month. We could have had that for three months half price instead - but if you do the maths its about the same price so at least going with the discounted box you have something to show for your savig when it ends :-)
The cancelation deal is £49 inc fitting BTW and the cheapest pack to waive the Sky+ is the 1J or 1K pack at £30 not the £33 package0 -
Hi
With all these comments regarding cancelling to get a better deal, I was wondering what channels would actually be available if I did cancel.
Is there a difinitive list detailing these?
Also, does anyone know what the situation is for re-subscribing after cancelling?
Not yet cancelling, but am considering it as watching less and less.
Thanks0 -
If you cancel you can get a Freesat card from Sky for £20 to get 120 channels

I called up and they only offered 3 months half price. nobody knows about sky+ for £49.
Edit: Rung SKY+ sales and got the guy to check with his manager.
They offered £49 refurb box with free install. Must have multiroom £10 p/m box though.0 -
mine was installed last thursday had the mutiroom added as they also gave me half price for 3 months thought if they install it all then its all done & will save me getting a ladder up the side of the house to move the 2nd box. we previously had the extra wire & magic eye thingy in main bedroom & when the engineer asked about installing the old box he wanted £40 to put it into the main bedroom & then rewire they magic eye into sons bedroom from either sky+ or sky box. other option was to install the old box into sons bedroom & leave magic eye in main bedroom which would be free so thats what he did when he went i moved the old box into main bedroom & put thee magic eye into sons then justdrilled through internal wall & swapped the cables
stupid thing was he wanted £40 to drill a hole he had to drill anyway , beginning to get a feeling some of the installers are as bad as certain rogue builders etc , my uncles box broke down engineer wanted 30 callout & 200 for refurbed ordinary sky box0 -
The thing is, I have tivo sub @ £10 a month so it costs me:
£10 Multiroom
£10 Tivo
£30 SKY Plus box0 -
