Think the problem is that when this thread was originally started the "Thanks" feature didn't exist!

Anyway well done for bringing this to everyones attention, I've registered my appreciation for 6 months half-price TV and £49 Sky+! :D

I called up this morning and managed to get the £49 sky+ thing but man was that hard work! Seriously, only seems to work now by saying you're gonna go to Cable and then the deals SLOWLY start being mentioned. They tried to offer the mult-room package for £49 + the extra £10 pm and fix my sky box for free (my reception is almost non-existant at times!) but then I said well why can't you do that with Sky+ and he said that it would just be too much and you wouldn't get the multi-room and stuff. Anyway, when I said I'd be cool if you just offfered me the Sky+ and didn't do the whoile multi-room thing he suddenly flipped and was like "You're only mentioning Cable just to get Sky+ aren't you?". Anyway I had to convince him that actually I'd save money if I went to Cable plus I'd get another 12 month warranty on a new box with them too etc etc. Anyway, he eventually folded and said he might be able to get me the box for £49 and now it'll be installed in a couple of weeks!

Thanks you guys as I would never have gotten that deal without knowing about this thread that's for sure!
if i had known then what i know now
  • Mine was installed yeterday (albeit after I was told it would be!)

    V1 box.

One advantage of cable (and there aren't many of you ask me) is that they own the box and are responsible for fixing anything that goes wonky.

    Didn't know that one.

Anyway, I've got a question: I've got one of those link cables so that I can control Sky from another room but it's just occured to me that I'll probably need another Sky+ remote to get the full functionality of the new box. So will the installer charge me a bucket for one of them or can I get a second remote from somewhere else?

had mine now a few weeks great piece of kit i some how managed to get it to record englands innings yesterday & stop when it was over even though i was 10 miles away
strange because it started to record around the time england started to bat & finished when it was all over & nobody was home & nobody set it up to prerecord
now its 1 of 3 things a telepathic recorder, or somebody/or animal wandered into the house & recorded it ( i did forget to close the patio doors ) or maybe a fault

also check out index for the magic eye link as they are closing down got mine from them for £12
