Rear fog lights...
Comments

I've noticed a large increase in front fog light usage in my area at night and day.
I've only ever used them once and that was on an unlit duel carriageway at 2am when visibility was very poor due to thick fog.0 -
It's the people that don't switch their lights on when visibility is reduced you need to worry about.0
-
and you drove on with the warning light glowing in your face?
No - the warning light was glowing at my knee - otherwise I would have seen it....duh!I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
Well, why not in this wonderful world of technology, put a speed governor on cars when fog lights, front or rear are switched on, speed limited to 30/40 mph. How many cars did I see last week on the motorways who feel that visibility is so poor that they need front and rear fogs, driving at well above the speed limit...............in DENSE FOG. I think these idiots must believe that the use of the fog lights makes everything in the road ahead clear out of the way.
The only way to tackle fog is to slow down, you don't know what's in the road ahead in the thick fog, it could be stationary traffic, an artic you'll be lucky if you still have a head on your shoulders, a MPV with six kids in it..who if you hit it at that speed would most definately kill them all, and probably you too. So why oh why if you as a driver feel the need to show everyone you have fog lights and you feel it is soooo bad to use them, why on earth would you still fly along at crazy speed.
If i'm on a coutry road on my way to work I will use my rear fog lights if there is nothing behind me, then if something appears I will switch them off, I don't have front fog's and don't see much point in them, even with them on previous cars I've been reduced to 20mph on the roads around where I stay, many hills, and wee glens to go through!!Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Don't know about you guys, but I don't really recall when it was last foggy in this country. A heavy mist perhaps, but fog.... no.
If one needs fog lights one should not be able to drive more than 30mph maximum due to said fog, if your able to do 90mph down the motorway it's not really "foggy" is it.
I don't call lit a fog light switch it's a "Wan%er Switch"0 -

Do you drive over the M62 between Rochdale and Bradford much? Perhaps between 6am and 7am?
The idea that it needs to be so foggy that you have to slow down to 30mph is rather silly.
Over said motorway, when the car in front's rear lights become less visible due to fog, it's time to put the fog lights on.
Mind you, some people don't bother putting any lights on during dusk, perhaps they think it's a wn8kr switch too? :cool:0 -

Where do you live. 30mph I wish.
We have fogs so thick if you can see the bonnet it's a good one.
I've driven with the windows down so I can see turnings on the left and right.
(And I put the fog lights on)0 -

If you can't see then you're driving too fast for the conditions, very silly just relying on lights.0
