  • Yeah I've heard gallstones and kidney stones are supposed to be worse painwise. Now I'm thinking I shouldn't have said anything as I really don't want to worry any of you who are going to be first time mums. I'm doing it for be third time so yes it is painful but you get through it and so do loads of women every day:)

SmlSave - yeah it is still worth doing the classes :)

Thanks ladies, I feel a little brighter this afternoon. It was a shock this morning but the more I think about it, the more I know it was his time to go.

I was terrified at the thought of childbirth before I got pregnant, infact that was a reason why I put it off for so long. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm a bit more positive about it. It HAS to come out somehow and at some point. My mum said it was the worst thing in the world but she did it 4 times!

Big hugs Faerie, whether you're expecting it or not it's always going to be sad and a shock particularly if you're emotional anyway :grouphug:

Also, can I just say how much I LOVE seeing bump pics! Keep them coming ladies... I miss the days of having a neat bump rather than a tummy that I'm struggling to get through narrow doorways :rotfl:

Mincepie - Your DH's spot made me :rotfl: Very impressive of him to be so manly about it! Sounds exactly like something my DH would say so I'm feeling pretty nervous about labour... I'm not exactly backwards-at-coming-forwards at the best of times and if he pushes me over the edge then he'll know about it

Squirrel - I'm doing the NCT classes but got a pretty hefty discount due to income / disability. It's always worth dropping them an email if you fancy going along as they are pretty generous with giving help when it's needed.
  • Fingers crossed this works...

Decided today that this jumper is getting a little too tight and then remembered it was what I was wearing when I took a 4 weeks photo so thought I'd compare...

    15+6 today.
  • Sorry to hear your bad news Faerie. x

    I've been Money Tipped!
Would 15 weeks be far too earlier to feel movement?

faithhope regarding the pain, I had gallstones and had to have my gall bladder removed and have heard from several sources including my mil (3 children) and my midwife's anecdotes that the pain of gallstones is worse than the pain of childbirth, which is oddly reassuring as i coped with that, never even went to A&E with it like everyone else i've spoken to so fingers crossed it's true for me as well, I'm clinging on to that idea to keep me calm! lol

I have had 2 kids so gone through 2 labours with only gas and air and DD2 was back to back and 10lb  I have also had gallstones for which I phoned an ambulance and had morphine injected directly into my blood stream. I though I was going to die the pain in my back was unbearable. would rather give birth then cope with Gallstones ! i no longer have a gallbladder :)
Just take each day as it comes. :)
    Bump due 18th January :j
  • I will also say on the child birth topic that there will reach a point where you are uncomfortable can't sleep, roll over touch your feet do up your show laces or walk up the stairs without getting out of breath at that point you will want baby out and labour is a means to an end :)

Try not to worry about it the midwifes will help you and there are loads of pain relief opinions xx
