Hello! Hope you don't mind me joining.
I'm 15+4 today with my first child. Have just come back from holiday which went a lot smoother than expected.

My current thoughts are centring around when I should tell work that I'm pregnant. I'm in an office job so no H&S issues to worry about but at the same time I don't want to do it too early / too late.

Hey yumyums, I told my work after I had my first scan, but you need to go with what feels right. Though I think once you get your matb1 form at 20week scan you need to start sorting out letting them know when your leaving etc so they can arrange your pay, that's what I have to do any way!

    Xx

Hi all, had a busy few days so haven't been on. Am 23 weeks now and had the most horrendous back pain and period-pain type cramps last night - is it too early for hicks?
Am going to wallow in the bath and then have a nap before I try and do anything productive today

I've been away all weekend on a little babymoon so I have contributed to the tumbleweed effect on here the last few days! :rotfl: See you on the next thread in 2 weeks! :)

Welcome to the thread! :) I told my work when I was only 11 weeks, but only because I was so sick that I had to really. Legally you have tell them by 15 weeks before your due date, but apart from that it is really up to you. It's probably better to get it out of the way before the bump appears and rumours start! :rotfl:

Aw, poor you! :( I have definitely had Braxton Hicks once or twice in the last week - I'm only 22 weeks. Apparently they usually start between 20 and 30 weeks so it's possible that they have just started early on for you too. Hope the bath helped!

I can't believe you've managed to keep it to yourself!! First time round I let slip to people at 7 weeks and officially told my bosses about 11 weeks - because I was so rough by that point I felt I had to explain why my work was so poor!

This time I told my line manager at 8 weeks, head teacher and colleagues after the 12 week scan. Again I was itching to tell the world!

Not too early. I don't think I felt any last time till really late and then they weren't painful, bump used to go rock solid and I'd be short for breath and uncomfortable.

Argh I'm sorry! I am still not feeling great. I seem to constantly cough from 10pm to midnight which is really annoying. Got about 6 hours sleep last night - I need more!!! And now I think I have strained my muscle behind my ribs, because I'm in agony on my left side. Even breathing in suddenly makes it kill. I'm falling to bits!!

I am 17 weeks today :j I feel like time is starting to go a bit quicker now. On the count down to the 20 week scan - only 3 weeks. And only 3.5 weeks of work and then it's Easter Holidays :j

Hey everyone, sorry I've been quiet - have had a hectic few shifts in work so I've been exhausted.

Minimuffin, I think I was offered the triple test because of my age (I'm 34, will be 35 when baby arrives, now I was told it's the age of conception that determines risk factors but they offered it anyway so I decided to go for it, sure they're getting my blood every fortnight anyway! Back to clinic tomorrow for some more!) I had both my girls in RMH but I was 24 when I had eldest and 28 with youngest so I wasn't offered test.

PigPen, how are things now? Has he come round any? Good luck for the scan x

Giz, that's fantastic news - I was in the pool for youngest and it was fab, am hoping to do it again with this one.

All good here, 18 weeks today and still no bump! I was talking to a friend yesterday and she was with a pregnant friend who was stunned - she had a lovely bump and is due about 6 weeks before me, she wanted to know where I'm hiding baby! I'm telling myself that I didn't show until over 20 weeks with girls so I have another couple of weeks. Still haven't felt any movement yet either but any time I've been scanned I've been told baby is very active so it's just bouncing away under my fat!

Trying to get myself sorted for a busy few weeks coming up, I'm working nights this week (my last set for over a year! Woo Hoo!) youngest makes her first confession on March 22nd, then I'm working the following 5 days with my 21 weeks scan in the middle of it (working early that day but will get out a bit earlier to make appt in time) Then we're off to USA over Easter and I cannot wait!

He hasn't mentioned it, I think he has chosen to selectively not hear and convince himself I meant something entirely different, or was winding him up.. I dunno.. he's a man FGS.. they are SOOOOOOOO weird.
