12 to 24 week pregnancy thread

Our ante natal classes are a one off on a saturday, no booking needed. Handy for my other half as he wouldn't be able to do an evening one. I was told to pick whichever one I wanted, they run monthly, but not to leave it to the very last minute as I wouldn't be very comfortable.
Other half wants to do the one at 36 weeks, as he's over anyway, but a) it is the day after my son's birthday and I feel bad about being out all day even though he says he doesn't mind, and b) other half is buying him a balti as a birthday meal, and I probably will feel awful and not pleasant to be around after trying to eat it at that stage!0 -
P.s. 24 weeks today, phew! I know rationally there is no real difference between yesterday and today, but I do feel relieved to get to another milestone.0

Congrats on V day Aimless! 3 weeks to go for me! All these little milestones really help to break the 9 months down!
I filled in a form that I got given at my 12 week scan for the hospital antenatal workshops, and we're booked in for the 10th December, when I'll be 34 weeks.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Re the anti natal classes,we put our name down at the booking in appt, for saturday course at the hospital...don't know if it's a one off one tho. I feel I'll need some refresher course as a lot has changed in 17 years lol. How far in the pregnancy do these courses usually start? X
.... in my NHS book it says usually start about 8-10 weeks before due date but earlier if multiple pregnancy. I do understand that if you want to go to classes you should enquire early rather than later as they can get booked up. Eg the nct one I looked at but am not going to do started beginning November (4 sessions) for those due late december to late january so that seems to fit.

Regarding antenatal classes...
I'm going to the nhs ones and am 36 weeks. My classes started when I was 33 weeks and I am now the furthest along in my group. The other ladies were 28, 30 and 33 weeks...the girl who was 33 weeks only came to one class amd then gave birth early...Mammy to 2 boys aged 5 and 20 -

Hi, been absent with busy stuff at work and friends and family this weekend, so just catching up. Congrats to the new graduates to this thread and on the scans (particularly the fainting OH which made me laugh too as I'm always telling DH to take his jumper/coat off, something he doesn't seem to think of even when he complains of being hot!).
Also congrats to those who have reached 'v' day - my turn tomorrow!!
Got my travel system out of the boxes to have a play last night. Somehow worked out how to fit it all together and it looks ace - but we are apparently missing a couple of bits that mothercare sent as a separate parcel (one order, four packages, two courier companies - how's that for helpful?). Got to chase that up now as it contains the colour pack for the pushchair part but more importantly the connectors for the car seat so pretty vital.
Been feeling a lot of movement lately, and managed to get DH to the bump at the right moment so he felt a push last night which was great as I was desperate for him to feel something too:):heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
