Nope, N.I it'd cost a fortune to ship I think :p My OH is moaning about the Quinny but I know it's only because the shop didn't have it set up with carry cot, if he could see it with carry cot he'd like it.

  • I'm not the one in my 'family' with first baby syndrome (as it's not my first!) but MIL is keeping Mothercare / Kiddicare going on her own (as it is her first grandchild). I sent her a list of some things we would like, expecting her to pick a few bits to get. Next thing I know, she's emailed saying she's bought the book, towels, and blankets, and saying the carrier and mattress will be on the way soon, basically covered everything on the list! I don't really mind bless her cos I know she's really excited, but I don't want it to be a constant stream of spending throughout sproggle's life. I'm trying to keep things quite minimal and inexpensive as I'm on JSA, plus that's just how I do things. Have told bf, but he's not really one for saying stuff to his mum so will just have to see how it goes I suppose. If it gets too bad, she could always buy me a bigger house I guess!

Ooh, congrats on yet more scans - seems to be about that time for loads of us.

Mine is tomorrow - can you please send team blue vibes to the baby!:rotfl:
Don't mind if it is a girl, but everyone seems to be talking about it as though it is a boy and I'd like us all to be right!

More important of course is knowing it is okay. Been feeling plenty of squirming, increasing amounts as we go along, so that's a good sign.

Hurumph... *envious* Everyone seems to be having 20 week scans and finding out their teams... I'm now 20 weeks and i'm not getting my scan till i'm 21+7. No fair! I WANT IT! Don't they understand, i NEED to know what team we are on. Sooooo frustrating. DH and I think its a boy. Both of our families think its a girl, the private sonographer "thought" it might be a girl, but on the 4d scan pic, i think you can see boy bits. So we really are no clearer at all!

    Grrrrrr.

    Sorry Kira!!

Dunno if we will find out the team anyway, I'm betting on crossed legs or baby in some other way being awkward... just like it's father :rotfl:

Thats exactly what i said Crabapple! At our private scan 2 weeks ago, beanie was upside down, hands over face, crossed legs, and cuddling my placenta so the pic was all fuzzy! Couldnt have been less cooperative! Daddies child all round! Hence i made DH pay for the scans!

  • :T Good news received this morning, I had a CVS on 22/08 and my baby doesn't have any known chromosome abnormalities. Big sigh of relief over here... just have to wait for my next scan on Monday (I'll be 16 weeks) to check the heart for defects (my nucal was v.high), its all the bloomin waiting thats a real pain.

So now i'm going to let myself go have a look at baby stuff, where would you recommend going for prams and cots and stuff? I don't intend to buy much new but i have absolutly no idea about prams - they've got wheels and i put my baby in it if i want to go out and thats about as far as my knowledge goes. :o

One benefit of the CVS (if you can call it a benefit) is we can find out the definite sex of the baby - rather than relying on the sonograher and a blurry scan image, but not sure if i should wait until 20 weeks. Actually I think i'll ask to find out when i feel the baby moving. (secretly hoping for team blue, but a healthly baby would do me just fine)

  • That's excellent news on the CVS results Scarygreen :D

Do you live anywhere near a Mamas and Papas or Mothercare? It is best to test prams out in the flesh before buying one. Check the weight when pushing, how easy it is to fold down and put up, will it fit in the boot of your car etc.

Had my 16 week MW appointment today, all my results from my scan/blood test etc at 12 weeks came back fine :D

Am now just counting down the days to my 20 weeks scan on 9th September... We're not going to find out which team we're on though, but I just want to see our baby again! :D
