I'm very achy today- pushing my toddler in his pushchair as he was tired today did not help my poor achy back and other parts!

I also need new bras-been putting it off but i guess i need to get bigger ones sooner or later. Hubby has noticed they have grown lol.

I saw a stand in midwife today-so didn't really do a lot just my bp and urine sample. I prefer my normal midwife-as she knows about my bp problems etc and doesn't need to question me on it anymore.

  • Congratulations on being Team Blue Kitten Pie :j

We had our 20 week scan on Monday, performed by the Foetal Medicine Consultant due to being high risk for Down's. There seemed to be some confusion over our scan appointment as they had booked us one at the regular ante natal and one at foetal medicine at the same time.

We waited over 2 hours past our appointment, OH left to go put more money in the parking meter when they arrived to call me in. So I asked if they could wait for 5 mins for him to come back and they said fine. 30 mins later we were still waiting, apparently they had taken the next lady in icon_mad.gif

The scan was amazing icon_lol.gif Eugene the Bean was waving at us, and was in the middle of having his dinner because he was opening and closing his mouth loads. It was so cool icon_e_biggrin.gif She showed us a couple of 3D pictures too, but didn't print any as she said he looked like a plastercine baby still!

Anyway, Eugene has a hole in the heart, so we have to see a heart specialist in 4 weeks. He also has an enlarged stomach, so we have another scan in 8 weeks to look at that, and also his eyes are set further apart than they should be. So our risk of him having Down's is now 1 in 7 from 1 in 31.

My placenta is to the side, but quite low down, and I am carrying quite big which may mean I need to have fluid drawn off later on which could trigger early labour.

I've been having them too, they told me I had low blood sugar levels, not sure if it's anything to do with that, the doctor told me it's probably migraines brought on by pregnancy. Mines are awful though, I need to lie in a dark room and basically not move. The pain is so intense I'm sick with it.

I sympathise with you Gilly! I had those too and they are excrutiating. The seemed to go at about 18 weeks and I am ok as long as I drink lots and lots of water. Apparently you need more fluids than usual when you are pg.

Well it's time to celebrate as I finally got ALL my ironing done, not one piece left and not one item of clothing in the laundry basket. It makes me sad to think such stupid things make me so happy.

Going to pack my case and early night for going home tomorrow, gone til Monday so I'll catch up with you all then. :D

  • Eep, nearly outgrown this thread! Anyone else have a problem with Jr sleeping in awkward positions? They say to sleep on your left side but this just doesn't work. Last night I had JJ resting at my ribs!

Yes, my tummy seems to get quite hard at night now (23 weeks) and gets more uncomfortable as the night goes on, once i'm up and about it eases. I really miss being able to toss and turn easily. I try to sleep on side, but keep waking up on my back (oops!!)

When are you due eyelinerprincess?? I'm 22nd Nov (team pink)

Baby seems to be moving less (she is still moving a little bit) - anyone else had this around 23 weeks. I wonder if it's because she doesnt have the room to somersault as she has been doing the last few weeks yet isnt big enough to have a big impact when she kicks or punches!

W Womble - thought for a while what to say as didn't to read and not acknowledge what you're going through. As my hubby said to me the number is a number. It's still just a chance. In your case, 6 of 7 babies will not have downs. Your strength is amazing and I hope that Eugene is one of those 6. Either way, I know you'll be great parents. Sending you all my wishes X

  • Thanks Twigpig,

we are just taking things one step at a time as if I think about things too much I could worry myself to death about it.

Is it only Thursday? I feel like I've done a full week at work by Wednesdays. I was supposed to go out for a meal last night but was so tired when I got home I had a 'power nap'. I woke up 90 minutes later and couldn't be hassled with rushing round to get showered and ready within half an hour so I pulled out. I am getting so anti social

Wonder Womble - my second son was born with a hole in his heart which was surgically closed by the time he was three. He did really well and is now thriving as Im sure your little one will x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

WWomble - I second everything that twigpig says but I am still going to give you a big (((hug))) anyway. I am glad that molly41 shared her experience with her son on here as if someone else has been through the same thing and all ended well then that would make me feel very comforted. From your scan you say that eugene was waving at you so he is certainly a happy :j little fella in there and thats all that matters.

    Morning :j

Those who have been saying about feeling uncomfortable in bed I am too but cant say that mousey (:o) is digging me in the ribs as he is a little tiny for that yet (I am 15 +1 today)

Twigpig - Thanks for sharing what happened at your appt, got that to look forward to but thankfully not until sept. My diet is still terrible as i just dont want what I used to eat and starting to forget what vegetables taste like

Gilly - hope you have a lovely weekend at home (in your crease free clothes :D sorry could not resist)x

keelykat - re bra situation, mine getting critical too but dont want to shell out for the next size up only for it to be no use shortly as cheap bra's kill me I need to buy decent ones. I was seriously considering ordering an 'aahh' bra from one of those dodgy american tv adverts on the basis that it would 'expand' with me  but its ok sense prevailed :o!!!!!!!!!! see am going mad!!!!!!!!!!!

right now on to serious matters, I must really hand wash some massiiiiive knickers today as I still dont have use of my broken washing machine so the situation is getting serious I put on some normal ones yesterday and they nearly cut oFf my circulation :eek::eek: its granny knickers all the way from now on

edit - there is a god just found a pack new granny knickers, crisis averted !
