It must be all this nice weather making us all feel !!!!! I'm glad I'm not alone anyway.
Well, I have some exciting news. We've had an offer accepted on the house we had been after (hurray!) so all should be completed in the next 4-6 weeks! Yipee! Now I'm just concerned that the place will be a sh1thole when baby is born...there's no pleasing some people
Hope everyone starts to feel better soon.0 -
Congrats on the new hovel RWB.. I am sure it will be fine.. really you need your room nice and baby will shar with you and the living room nice as you'll spend most of your time there.. and the kitchen and bathroom clean and functional.. it'll all come together.
I am decorating the girls room first week in August 6 YEARS after we moved in!!!!!!!!.. But, last year I sorted 4 bedrooms and the kitchen so this year it is the turn of the girls room and the baby will go in with them and this baby will stay with me for a bit. We need to fit the baby and 3 girls in that room.. fortunately it is 14ft square.. but they all want single beds (I am looking at lowish cabin beds with storage and any extra toys etc is got rid of.. if it doesn't fit in their cupboards it isn't needed!) I is al so difficult and complex!!
After christmas I want to redecorate the front room which is looking very shabby nowThere is a bald bit on the carpet after only 5 years.. it is 100% wool carpet that cost an arm and a leg I am VERY disappointed with it's durability.. though I wonder what kind of guarantee it came with..
We have done loads of work and flinging in the garden today and tomorrow we are sorting the girls room ready for plastering.. more flinging.. Binday Tuesday.. no rushing about to fill the bins this week
Baby had a hoppy 10 minutes this morning and hasn't moved since... it is the laziest little thing ever!!
And.. I just realised.. I shoudn't be here ... 25 weeks todayLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Thats the problem!
I'll be 30 weeks before we can move in and currently the place has no kitchen and no central heating! Extraction is bang on 36 weeks :S
The rest of the house is livable in (just!) but really needs decorating. I don't want the current carpet in our bedroom or the living room when baby is born but of course you need to decorate before you put a new carpet in!
Although we did know all of this when we bought it so I can't complain too much! My (lovely) family are doing most of the work and know the time constraints too so hopefully things will be fine! I'm looking forward to being on tea duty!
Happy 25 weeks! I think I'm, erm, 22? I am ALOT bigger than I was this time last year :S I kept a photo diary of my pregnancy with Felix and its good for reference...I can't believe how different the two of them have been. Lets hope it continues that way..0 -
Hi ladies,
Hope you're all having a good weekend? My weekend has been the BESTOH proposed! We stayed in a hotel overlooking the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, went for a lovely meal, then went to do some star/planet-gazing at the Observatory and then he popped the question walking back on a hill with lovely views of Sydney. It was so so so lovely, and I couldn't stop crying and smiling.
No ring yet - I've got my grandmother's wedding ring back in the UK so we're going to wait until we get home in Sept and see if we can get the stones from my grandma's ring built-in. Plus a school friend of mine's family runs a jewellery repair/design business so we should be able to get it made just how we like. I'm pretty particular (aka fussy) so we're both happy to wait a couple of months and get the right ring.
Am so happy right now... And am 17 weeks today and SWEAR I felt a couple of kicks earlier. Kind of felt like a trapped nerve twitching, but was pretty irregular (whereas my trapped nerves tend to be constant/regular) and happened in two different places.
Happy Sunday girls, BMxx

Congratulations Blue Monkey - what fabulous news and story
And RWB - a new house sounds lovely even if your loved ones will have to work hard to make it right - a new home for your bubba0 -
RWB .. Mine will be a few weeks early too.. whether it likes it or not!!! lol. You'll be fine moving with family support.. I wish I had some kind of family support.. they might come do some of my decorating! CH isn't vital so long as you have a warm room for during the day.. as for kitchen.. a scrub down, a cooker, a fridge and a washer.. tha'll do for a while.. It'll come together really quickly!!!
Blue... congratulations..:D.. I can see why you have had the best weekend!
I've spent the weekend flinging and chucking and winging and cleaning and scrubbing and washing.... the house is fit for dogs now.. whereas before pigs would have objected to being here!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

OH proposed!
OMG!!!! Congrats BM :T:T:T
That's great news, and a lovely proposal story
I've had a really busy weekend. I spent Saturday catching up on Messages that I would usually do after work but have been too tired to do this week. So caught up on all my shopping.
Today I have been cleaning and scrubbing downstairs after dog sitting my sister's pooch for a week. Since the weather was scorchio I decided to take all the covers off the baby bouncer, pram, moses basket etc that we had been given and wash them all. It was lovely to see them hanging on the line. Have got a load of moses basket sheets and cot sheets etc to wash tomorrow since the forecast is so good. I can't wait until I start washing the little clothes
My cleaning splurge was prompted by a dream I had last night that I had had the baby and was not prepared. It was a long dream which started with him coming feet first and the Doctor wrapping wire around his feet to pull him out  I had to go back to work the next day and was trying to show my mam how to make the baby's bottles and she was doing it wrong. I was getting really upset because I had to keep showing her and didn't have time to make my 4 cheeseburgers for my packed lunch :rotfl:
I'm 17 weeks today and have compiled a list of baby things / clothes that we have got so far and I think we're doing quite well so far. Is there a link anywhere to a list of essentials clothes / product wise?0 -
Yours is due on Squeaks first birthday
Really? Aww!!
Though to be honest I am very fed up now and will be happy for him to come from 37 weeks onwards. My SIL had her baby boy yesterday and I am so ready to meet mine!Wife and mother :jGrocery budget
