  • I will also:
    • [STRIKE] hang washing on airer instead of TD[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE] set up energy monitor and standby saver which both arrived yesterday after 5 months and half a dozen irate phone calls [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE] possibly go into town to look at detox stuff in B**ts, and if so I'll use the Park & Ride as it's cheaper and also, as it's much closer to home, I'll use less diesel[/STRIKE] after reading the reviews I decided it's a waste of money -also saved diesel and parking!!
    • two half hour walks thus saving on a gym
    • possibly move my fruit bushes, which is #71 on my 101 things list, although the ground seems pretty frozen today :(
Okay, not too bad. I also spent a couple of hours filing so all the paperwork is now up to date. I did resort to writing a list in the end. The Stitching Witch with no list? Unthinkable!!:rotfl:

Not much DFW stuff going on today :
    • meals from stores
    • have an NSD
    • write to tax office to see if i'm entitled to a rebate
    • write to pension scheme to ask how much refund they're offering (might want to transfer it instead)
The rest on the list is all chores so not in the spirit of the thread :o

I'll touch base with you all later, stitchy x

All I do is peel and then halve or quarter and stick in a bag in freezer. Make great refreshing smoothies. As the smoothie maker is made to handle Ice it doesn't damage the blades putting them in frozen. Just had one , yummie :D I never ever waste a banana :)

Fantastic! Thanks, will def be giving this a try:)
Plus, was mums birthday today, couldn't afford a present so baked her a cake with the children and got them to make their own cards. She loves things like this so means more to her than anything that could be bought!

My cookies didn't turn out brilliantly, but not bad for a first attempt - its nice to be able to take something that would be enjoyed but without having to spend.

Think you've both hit it spot on - even if something's not perfect, it's the thought that counts and people really appreciate it if you've actually spent time doing something yourself for them, rather than spending 2 mins rushing into a shop and picking up anything!

Chanie, hope you're cousin's on the mend.

Snoop, glad to hear your feeling a bit better. I used to get a lot of migranes but, thankfully, they seem to have settled down for the time being.

[STRIKE] Check bank accounts & spreadsheets[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Take chicken out freezer for dinner tomorrow[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Make apple & blackberry crumble (remembered to take these out freezer last night - apples from DM garden & blackberries were picked in the woods so all free:D)[/STRIKE]
Uni work (just can't get into this unit at all which is strange as it's something I'm quite interested in)
[STRIKE]Tidy house & clean (DM coming for visit next week)[/STRIKE]

    Tomorrow .....

    More uni work
More washing :(Still 2 more loads due to the amount extra I generated yesterday - totally run out of hanging room & may have to use dryer
[STRIKE] Sort through freezer - have a horrible suspicion there's stuff lurking at the bottom that's been there for ages (never seem to sort this as things go in and disappear!)[/STRIKE]
    Ensure house sparkling!
Roast chicken & veg for dinner
    Make chicken stock
    Make HM soup with stock

Morning everyone, I actually did more than I thought yesterday!

Woke up in the middle of the night with earache:( & still have it (it's one of those frustrating things like toothache that you can't really do anything about). Have been feeling a bit "coldy" last couple of days but it's not come to anything (yet).

Anyone any tips on curing earache?

Bit dull here this morning again but not too cold for a change - should get a nice walk with the dog later on.

    Have a good day!:)

Decided to take dog to woods as it was beautiful and sunny and had a fabby walk but it was very muddy. Came across a bit which was a total bog and couldn't find a way around (apart from backtracking and going up another route which would've been around another 2 miles) so picked my way through. Lunatic dog decided to have a ROLL in it..... then come and shake all over me......OMG....

Arrived home & put on clothes No 3 (which will end up in the hamper with the others once I've finished cleaning and had a bath). Have just about forgiven him (he's lying on the sofa looking all cute and can twist me round his paws!):D

So middle of the afternoon and will be onto my 4th set of clothes soon - not very DFW. Washing machine full (towels) and run out of hanging space already!

Not a lot ticked off my list yet, so better get busy! Enjoy your afternoon everyone!

Your forbearance is legendary I'd have throttled him. Mind you I'm a cat person and have even been known to forgive the cats for throwing up on the throw on my fave armchair. I'm impressed all the same.

Ditto. I must say DNMS you've kicked my butt a few times over this last few weeks. In the nicest possible way of course.

    Morning all!
Sorry I haven' been around for a few days - my grandmother died on Thursday (91 and very poorly, so a blessing really) so I have been on a 500 mile round trip to Wales to help my dad (it was my mum's mum) sort out the arrangements etc. Dad is capable of doing this himself but has just has his hip replaced and is on crutches and can't drive. Of course I needed to be there for my mum too.

So I am now an expert in doctors, death certificates, registrars, funeral directors etc - amazing all the stuff that needs doing after a bereavement.

It means that the DFW stuff has sort of gone out of the window for a few days - extra £40 petrol, £50 for flowers for the funeral etc, bits and pieces for mum from the shops..... it all adds up.:o

But I got back last night and added a £5 bottle of wine to the spends (purely medicinal!) and then went through the finances that are now looking decidedly poor after the extra unbudgeted expenses. Oh well, these things happen. On the positive side OH did try to do some housework for me while I was away bless him - not fabulous, but certainly good enough for this week!

    So my list....
    • Go to Mr T with a list for the week's food shopping - a budget of £50 but would really love to pull back a few pounds to help with the extra expenses if possible (never happens though!)
    • Do a few hours school work - all out of synch for this week due to the visit to Wales
    • Put all the dry washing away
    • Change the bed and wash the sheets
    • Go out for lunch/dinner with OH (he's paying:))
    • Try and have a little rest later - lots of running around and stress so a hour or two watching a film would be nice
    • Phone mum
That's all for now... better get on with it

PS just remembered that I put £2 in my Xmas tin too!

    Morning all

I've not been able to post for several days as I've been working flat out, plus I've had a couple of nights out. In fact I was so tired yesterday I went to bed at 6pm:eek:

    This weekend I'm going to
    • Check banking - one of my tenants is late paying his rent. It so annoys me when he does this as he's usually only a day or so late but instead of just saying to me, it's going to be late he pretends it's gone out of his bank account... sigh Still no money, will have to chase again if it doesn't turn up tomorrow
    • Check surveys and chase up missing fiver I claimed from mysurvey done found a few little ones all together about 40p
    • Shopping on Sunday to take advantage of free parking done spent the sum total of about a fiver with enough veg for a few weeks
    • Food from stores done
    • Any change into the penny pot. I've got almost £40 bagged up ready to pay on to current snowball recipient. some in will be more today
    • Not sure if I can get myself motivated to run. Feeling really tired Still feeling tired. Will see later, anyone want to kick my !!!?
    • Hopefully see my kids and grandkids for a pizza at some point moved to Wednesday as my pregnant daughter is feeling tired and hormonal

May think of some other things to do or need doing when my brain kicks in later.

Hope you all have a good weekend and DNMS can I have some energy this way please

I went and got my nails done yesterday as I realised I've got a couple of late meetings this week which meant that I'd not be able to get to my normal cheaper shop (£16) and would have to pay about £20 if I left it to in the week. So did my shopping yesterday. Only spent £27 and that included £8 for 2 new pillows for my bed. :) Also used the £2 off a £20 spend coupon that I'd got when I went to Mr S for a couple of bits in the week.

I did however, manage to get over 4 hours marking done yesterday. Still more to do though sigh.

    Today's list
    • Today I've sold a top on ebay for about a fiver inc postage. My old sky+ box has bids as well so that will sell too. - Packaged them up done
    • Put on the DVD of Jeremy Kyle that I won when I went to a comedy night last week. Hope that sells too. done
    • Will package up the DVDs that I sold to Music Magpie. Waiting for a cheque for the last lot that I sent last week. Didn't get a huge amount but at least they're not sitting around taking up space. done
    • Check on car insurance renewal not done

I'm thinking about getting rid of some of my vinyl - I've got a load of old 70s and 80s RnB and soul funk LPs. I know a few of them are valuable. Will have to sort out where the best place is to take them. I've set up my usb turntable - given to me as a pressie 2 years ago. Just need the masters degree to know how to work it.

Welsh, we crossed posts. Just seen your news. Sorry to hear that. Sending you hugs

    Morning all,

    Today I plan to:-

    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • Dinner from meal plan - Had to cheat here as the power went out for over an hour! But we got a Chinese instead of Dominos so worked out at about half the price we'd usually spend...
    • All food from stores
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on Foodfocus[/STRIKE]
    • Contact Next & ask where my jeans are!
    • [STRIKE]Hang up washing to dry[/STRIKE]
    • Work out how to improve my life from DNMS's wheel of life tool, it says I need to work on money, career & contribution but how can I do that in a MSE way?
    • [STRIKE]Going to check out a wedding venue today - will ask if it's cheaper on a bank hol[/STRIKE] It is cheaper, but not sure it's the right place...would make it kinda awkward for our guests :(
    • Look into getting an ad on autotrader/papers for OH's car
    • Find some cheap but nice bits for my friend's hen do
    • Finish up organising the accounts paperwork
    • Finish tidying study
    • Finish tidying bedroom
    • Spend at least 10mins going over my tkd terminology
