I have been watering at least once a day, and watered plenty when I put them in. I will have a wee gentle dig down and see what's happening, or not! If there is no growth, can I just water lots and hope that does the trick?
I planted mine only seven weeks ago and they're over two foot high now, should be flowering soon.0 -

I agree with LE but for the future sign up to http://www.blightwatch.co.uk/content/bw-Home.asp
You will get a text message or email to warn you when it could be a possibility in your area.
I've been here for 18 years and last year for first time ever got blight on my tatties, hopefully it's a one off.0 -
We had terrible wind (haha) here yesterday, and last night I found that some of my green bushies coming from my seed potatoes have broken and blown over. Is this the end of my first effort at growing potatoes then?0

Thanks Lotus-eater I was just about to ask a similar question, as we had similar wind, similar broken stems, similar first time tattie grower...if there's one thing this growing lark has taught me it's patience0 -

I have started harvesting tonight and just got 650g of lovely new potatoes from lady christi. I was careful and they were quite high up. I am very pleased and it is still moist enough down in the clay, though I will water thoroughly in 4-5 days if we have no rain. It took all of 5 minutes to get them. I planted on 6th march0

BTW I had a quick peek at the blight outbreak map yesterday and it's totally clear, as it should be this early. So no one sorry about it atm OK?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

Just been in the garden, and the spuds there are starting to show their lovely little dark green leaves..... You will not believe how happy that has made me!
Really hoping for leaves on the lottie later!
OH, and we may get heavy showers tomorrow. Will give me a day off from watering. Had to go and buy one of those tap hose connectors yesterday as someone has nicked mine off the hose at the lottie. And also nicked the ones off my 2 neighbours' plots too. At least I found one in Home Bargains for 99p.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
