I'm with Lotus eater, not sure what you mean.
When you put them in the compost which way up were the shoots?
If you've planted them upside down, they will right themselves. You risk getting no tatties if you keep rummaging through them.0 -

sad I know:eek:
the pic shows the growth going upwards whilst my potatoes are growing downwards-should i turn them:o
Im tragically happy they have grown at all so have to fumble my tatties- i have no other excuse:eek::o
Shoots generally know which way to go, gravity tells them, so unless you live on the space station or something, I would rely on the spuds experience to know which way to grow.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
My vibes say - think pineapple related name, in a pinky purple outfit :cool:
Anyway.......... Summer Sally, what's your predictions?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I reckon a windy summer, a dry June, but showers in July/August. I just hope the humidity stays away to prevent blight.0

OK, I'll have a go.
I reckon a wet June, low temps, dry July, August, hot spells, but not a hot summer, bad year for blight with lots of humidity later on. I'd hope for a decent September, but I'm not pinning my hopes on it.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
when i got them they had no green shoots just a few root like long bits which have multiplied- they now have a bit of green so i moved them upwards slightly with the green bit up
i will now leave them alone:o

Don't worry, a friend of mine who has been growing for years, pre germinated all her beans on kitchen paper last year, then promptly forgot which came out first, the root, or the shoot. So she planted half and half. :rotfl: They all came up, but some were a bit later
(It's the root)
