But, hold the phone, because I'm trying a couple of new ones this year. I'll let you know later
Thanks LE, look forward to your results.
I've had a few things from real seeds but never tried anything other than the common courgette.0 -
Quick question...... I planted my spuds, Charlotte and King Edward, maybe a month ago or so. A few in the garden and the rest on the allotment. I know I was a bit late doing them, but am a bit worried as there is absolutely no sign of them. Every day when I go up to the lottie, I am hoping I will see even a wee bit peeking through, but nada!
Is there any hope? It did say on the labels to plant up until April.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I tried the verde di Milano from real seeds last year and it was better than the run of the mill all green bush, but still not as good as the verde di italia. Thanks LE, look forward to your results.

I think other places sell it, but whether real seeds have their own strain or not, I don't know. They would tell you if you ask.
Tried the round ones a couple of times and don't like them so much, bit of a novelty IMO. Yellow ones are easy to find, but every time I come back to the same one.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I have been watering at least once a day, and watered plenty when I put them in. I will have a wee gentle dig down and see what's happening, or not! If there is no growth, can I just water lots and hope that does the trick?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

That's way too much water. Dig and have a look at a tuber.I have been watering at least once a day, and watered plenty when I put them in. Try a spiraliser on a courgette. Brilliant and makes courgette spaghetti strings. Lovely raw on salads
positive weather solutions say that early august will be warm and humid. Danger time I think
I am going to have a furtle around lady christi later today. I managed to use up all the bag of potatoes that dh bought ie roasted them all in goose fat for freezing. It would be nice if I find just a few for salads0 -
Day before yesterday my potatoes looked absolutely fine. After taking a complete battering from the wind over the past 48 hours or so they now look like this. There was a fair bit of damage, which was mainly on the 'windward' side so i moved the pods into a more sheltered spot when I got home yesterday.

Looked online for images of blight and now Im fearing the worst:( Is it blight ?
Just to add. There are no signs of any damage or anything on the stalks/haulms.

But you just said the damage was wind. Unlikely to be blight. Very unlikely. It's not, OK?sunlund2311 wrote: »Looked online for images of blight and now Im fearing the worst:( Is it blight ?
