absolutely correct. its such a pain in the rear for a truck driver to stop start constantly- you have to change gear 6 times to get to 25 mph- hence we always prefer to keep it rolling. it saves fuel too.
I really don't have a problem when NOT driving a truck, I have an elderly leyland daf van that is pretty much incapable of exceeding 62 mph, so I tend to sit it behind an HGV in lane 1 all the time and just go with the flow of trucks. You really wouldn't want that it front of you in lane 2 at 62 mph.0 -
I hate them too .... and I'm sure they are cause the traffic hold ups ! then there are those that hog lane 3 in 4 lanes of motorway !
They obviously dont know how to drive cos u see them with elbows on the steering wheel . They prob dont know are are scared of using lane 1 for fear of having to overtake ? !
We wouldnt need a 4th lane in most cases if people understood lane discipline . There should be more signs to remind drivers to stay left unless overtaking .0 -

reaaally? I suppose he disconnects the recording devices that are onboard fire engines too, so there is no record of him doing it when someone complains?Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
It all used to annoy me. Now I just set the cruise control and stay in the inside lane and leave the middle lane fools to it.
Sticking to the middle lane is just rude and inconsiderate at the very least.0 -
So what you are saying is you like to sit in your Mini and be sucked by a truck driver?
As for middle lane morons. Here's a shameless plug for the page I wrote about them.
'Great Britain & Scotland' nice one :T0 -
If you're not overtaking anyone, just get into lane 1. Who cares about grooves (man up, you have to make corrective steers when overtaking lorries anyway!), or whether it looks dangerous to be changing lanes in case you're going from lane 1, and someone is coming from lane 3, thats why you glance over your shoulder to double check your blind spot. If you indicate for a few second first person from lane 3 should see that and not pull in, I've been in both positions and for patience before pulling out while indicating, or being observant of both lanes ahead, ive never had a problem.
People who gormlessly sit in the middle lane look at stupid as those who drive with the old side light/fog light combination on, i just tell myself they dont understand basic instructions ("keep to the left," and "This is your headlight switch. and if it's foggy this is your foglight switch, but only if it's foggy..."0 -

Have you ever had to deal with tramlining? I mean proper tramlining like you get with low profile tyres and modified suspension. It's at a minimum very off-putting and in worst case can be dangerous since you end up swerving around all over the place!Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -

Despite the fact the Highway Code states - keep to the left... it does not say keep to the left unless there is tramlining in lane one then use middle lane...
The same could be said for pot holes, should we all drive on the pavement as it may damage our cars...If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0
