Good, tried this and it works maybe 50%........ You need to cut across inches from their front end on the return to the left hand lane to get the maximum effect
My favourite is what my fireman buddy does, he come up behind them, slams on the blue & two's and leans on the horn. Then overtakes and cuts right across in front into the left hand lane.
The emergency services HATE middle lane drivers!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

You are in the middle lane going faster than the lorries and the outside lane is totally empty but they come up behind you hooting and flashing. Has no effect of course and after several minutes of apoplexy ( I'm doing 70 anyway) they pull into the outside lane with bad grace . They then pull into the very left lane for 100 yards when they are up the !!!! of the next lorry so pull out , pass it and back into the inside lane again. You see them disappear into the distance in-out-in-out . I call them the Hokey Cokey drivers. As big a menace as anyone because they not only risk wiping themselves out but are breaking the highway code which recommends smooth consistent driving.
you meant to drive in the left lane and use the other for over taking so there nothing wrong with going back to the lane your meant to be in0 -
M1 M25 is full of them. always seem to be a queue of cars in L3 behind some !!!!!! going practically the same speed as the cars in L2. Often a van with me in it will overtake the lot of them in L1 but don't tell anyone.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I am not talking about when there is lots of traffic, I am talking about an empty motorway with only a few cars on the road. And the one sat in the middle lane with NOTHING AT ALL in front of him or to the left of him. I come from behind in the 1st lane and have to go across 2 lanes to overtake them..If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0 -
Lane discipline

You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear. If you are overtaking a number of slower-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past. Slow-moving or speed-restricted vehicles should always remain in the left-hand lane of the carriageway unless overtaking. You MUST NOT drive on the hard shoulder except in an emergency or if directed to do so by the police, HA traffic officers in uniform or by signs.0 -

we should do america and let people over take where they like
I agree with this. I undertake quite often these days since I discovered that there is no law against it, only advice.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
i like the left hand lane on the m25 its always the quickest as truck drivers dont do the stupid brake dancing that the other guys in 2 & 3 do0

There is a reason why some people drive in the middle lane , myself included.
The inside lane is frequently grooved by HGV vehicles which cause my car to oscilate up and down the grooves. Cars with a smaller track or narrower tyres don't suffer from this. The effect is I am continually having to make small steering corrections so if that is the case I go to the middle lane which is usually smooth.0
