  • I have been reading this thread with interest - MSE forums offer so much help! :T

I've been looking for a while for a tooth whitening system and seen both the ones mentioned on gumtree and groupon.

From what I've read I'm rather sceptical of the laser whitening option.

So some kind of home peroxide kit seems to be in order. It seems dentists were forced to tell patients to do this while EU legislation was put in order. So I wonder what kits did they offer?

    Can anyone recommend one?
(perhaps one which they have experience with?).

Yes the system your dentist recommends after having a thorough health assesment to make sure your teeth and gums wont be damaged by treatment and you have seen a hygienist to remive any tartar etc. The dentist will then take impressions to send to a laboratory to get well fitting trays which are essential to treatment.

After checking and fitting they will give you the concentration and type of solution appropriate to you, which is legally supplied,in date and correctly stored in a fridge. They should then monitor your treatment and adjust as necessary and treat any sensitivity promptly.

Alternatively you could aquire an unknown chemical over the internet, illegally supplied, possibly counterfeit or out of date or not stored correctly,or not even what the tubes say it is,apply it to your teeth with inadaquate trays and hope that you wont suffer lasting damage of your general or dental health.
  • If they are working as yo sharing then it is good to have the treatment from them i hope they will good dentist i will met them for the laser beam whitening procedure. i hope they will help me.

Have just asked my dentist for a referral, which they gave me but despite just having been to my dentist for a normal check-up (+ 2 fillings) they didn't clean/polish my teeth..... Are they 'being lazy' or is it better for this to be done by the whitening technicians?

There is no such thing as a whitening technician. Anyone other than a dentist or a hygienist working to a dentists prescription doing whitening is doing so illegally, even more illegally if they attempt cleaning/polishing. Where are you having the whitening done and who is doing it? Hope it is not the wow people you posted about before who are working illegally.
