Sorry everyone just too shocked not to have a moan

Got a normal oldish Audi A4 diesel - popped into the garage today running on vapour and filled up to the top, squeezed the nozzle a couple of times for luck, then I looked round and nearly had a heart attack £75 for a tank ful

This is bl***dy ridiculous especially with fuel duty, VAT all coming out of post tax income - someone is having a serious laugh somewhere.

I am thinking of buying a petrol car to save money:rotfl:

Though I have been thinking as I sit in traffic doing the school run that a Prius may be a good idea. I have heard of a bloke that converted his to LPG:j

Doesn't sound too bad, my old Citroen is well over £100 to fill it up now.

62p a litre for the fuel and 75p a litre in fuel duty and VAT, the petrol is cheap

It is getting a bit worrying, I'm hoping they get a move on with electric cars, but as my commute is the best part of 100 miles and I live in a flat hence can't plug a car in overnight it wouldn't be viable for me as things are. I can only recommend people drive more fuel efficiently, my daily commute used to cost me £8.80 but since I've started driving better it's gone down to about £8.40, despite petrol being about 10p a litre more.

No doubt though when electric cars do take off there will be a £3k road tax on them to make up for the decrease in fuel duty...

Toyota 'Pious' - ha! not a particularly 'green' car compared to some. More of a conscience statment for 'The Luvvy's'
