Hi all, well renewal time is here again.
I posted last year about my renewal. I has estimated £12000 income but only earned £6770. I recived a lump sum payment of £32.00.
So a quick question about this year..again my income was based £12000, but looking at my paperwork i have only earned £7720. Im just wondering if i will get a lump sum payment this year as i think they go previous years income. Im so confused when it comes to tax credits!!!0 -
Hi im new to this site and dnt know how to post my question so i am sorry if i havent done it correctley....my question is if my partner at present works 16hr p/w from the 6th of april we lose our working tax.....now the new working tax credit rule has come into play we cant claim as a couple as im currently unemployed haveing been made redundent.....i am thinking of printing some cards and trying out as a self employed handyman..not knowing my hrs and income could we still claim as a couple with an estemated calculation0

hi,
i have checked this out myself, but just want to double check if that's ok? better safe than sorry when you are skint and have a young mouth to feed!
i'm a single parent, have a 2 year old, i'm self employed and i work 18hrs a week. my child goes to nursery 2 days a week whilst i work, my nursery fees are £70 and i think tax credits pay 70% of this. am i correct in thinking i don't have to up my hours to 24 due to being a single parent? also does anyone know if my childcare element of WTC will change, or if my CTC will change? i currently receive £170 per week (WTC & CTC combined) just worried about it dropping dramatically as this would mean i would need to try and up my hours and find somebody to provide free childcare0 -
hi you don't need to change your hours as it it a single person claim, its only effects couples. x0

Afternoon all, i was just wondering if anyone else has not yet received their forms for this years tax credits. I got a letter about the new threasholds saying i wasn't eligible, but i rang them to say i wanted to continue claiming due to the fact that i am going to be earning less this year than last year as i am only going back to work part time after finishing my maternity leave. So i was expecting a form to be sent out for me to fill in for this years claim? Are they just running behind, or has everyone else had there's and i should ring up and find out where mine is? Cheers0

Hi
Just a quick question please, i work part time at 24.5 hrs per week, my husband was made redundant and is currently not working, he does not receive any benefit as in jsa. We have no childcare costs and no wtc.
Only cb and ctc, will these new rules affect me?

just to update, my working tax credits has finally come through, thank god. only advice i can give anyone is if you are a couple and work less than 24 hours you will only receive child tax credits.
as for receiving my claim form its not happened yet!
and dont forget if you do overtime and it works out your hours including this is over 24 and your a couple make sure you tell them so you dont lose out on working tax.0
