Just went on the world vision website and bought my grandad 2 birth certificates for children in Africa to be able to register their identities and get an education.
He is 83 this year and there is a bit of confusion surrounding his own birth date. His dad got drunk and no-one is completely sure if the date on his birth certificate is correct (31st Dec) as it may have actually been 30th Dec.
I thought this was quite a nice gift to get him in the circumstances.

Great ideas. I might do this for my sister actually she loves animals! I wonder if you can do donkeys instead of goats

How are you all planning to wrap yours though? I don't think I have enough wrapping paper :rotfl:

Can I put in a plug for the Salvation Army, they have all sorts of things that you can give as gifts for others in poorer countries, just look on their web site.

This is such a great idea, I always buy my parents things they dont need (or probably want) so will definatly do something like this this year. Does anyone know of any sites where you can maybe sponser children or pay for their schooling ect. I think my dad is deffinatly getting a goat tho I just think a child related present would be better for mum

Thank you, also do all of the companies send you a cirtificate or card ect to show what you have bought and I was a little worried that on some sites it says that they may use the money to use on a differn't resource. would you still get a cirtificate saying a goat ect?
  • With Every Child you get a 'dossier' on the child you're sponsoring and the locality/project area they live in.

Have just bought a Christmas card/tap (£6) from World Vision - can't argue with that. :) Don't know about the goats/donkeys, sorry! :D
