I'm not "kidding", the price of goats last Christmas varied quite considerably across the various charity sites... best to shop around. That's Numberwang!0 -
Karl Pilkington & Ricky Gervias have the funniest conversation about this it is in the book'The world of Karl pilkington'
Along this lines of..."how do you wrap it/post it?",
&
"What does a goat give you?",
"Milk!"
"well why not send a bottle of milk instead"
&
"Isn't it just another mouth to feed and the goat wont like being in Africa anyway"
Its really stupid but oh so funny!!!0 -
CAFOD also offer lots of different gifts like the one you described. Their website is https://www.cafod.org.uk. I am buying my children a vegetable plot and a school starter kit this year. Last year they got a latrine!!
They weren't best pleased until they read the certificate you get explaining what your money has bought. It put all their presents into perspective for them.

Thats what I was hoping for, espically has we've lost all our savings anyway thanks to farepak, I was trying to put some perspective on the matter, there are worse people out there. All year round not just at Christmas
Please dont shout at me, if you dont agree, it's just the way I feel right now.0 -
Hi again ABM,
Just wanted to say that I have had a look at the World Vision site and they seem to be offering "buy a goat" for £14, which is lots cheaper than the £24, £25 offered by other charities. Hope this is right.

Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.0
