  • Nor do I :rotfl:. Got the secret takeaway book last month, it's a recipe from that. Will let you know how it turns out. Was meant to be having a cooking marathon today, but as I was slightly hungover :o, I spent most of the day lounging around, watching films and generally doing naff all. Cooking day will have to be tomorrow, as I definately don't have time during the week.

Just finished making a lamb, potato & spinach curry with the leftovers from yesterdays roast. Will freeze it for later in the month.

Had a result today when I saw the nurse. She asked how my non-smoking was doing, and I told her that I'd put on rather a lot of weight since I quit. So, she's given me gym membership for 10 weeks on prescription :T. Never been able to afford the gym. Apparently it will only cost me £3 a session including using the swimming pool. Really looking forward to it now, you never know, I might even be able to do the top button up on my work trousers soon :rotfl:

  • AAArgggghhhh......hate my computer. Go to post something, and the whole lot disappears

Phoned sky earlier to see if they'd reduce our monthly bill. We pay £34.75 a month for HD+. Until Dec we were only paying £22 a month for the same but that was because they mucked up our intallation, and the engineers didn't come when the were meant to. Anyway, the chap I spoke to was great, but told me they couldn't do anything til 6th May, as that is when our new contract runs to. He also told me to cancel the sky insurance we have, as as we are under contract, the box is covered, and when the contract ends on 6th May, I'm going to ring up for a new deal, so it will be covered then too. Saving us another £7.75 a month.

Thought I'd share the debt totals now I've been doing this for nearly 2 months. So here goes:

    Natwest Mastercard [STRIKE]£2723.54[/STRIKE] £0 :j
    Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7338[/STRIKE] £4637.99
    Natwest Overdraft [STRIKE]£4900[/STRIKE] £4000
    Natwest Loan [STRIKE]£9825[/STRIKE] £8992.38
    MBNA [STRIKE]£4208.80[/STRIKE] £4155.90
    Barclaycard Loan [STRIKE]£1476[/STRIKE] £1274.72
    Abbey Loan [STRIKE]£8560[/STRIKE] £7963.76
    Egg Loan [STRIKE]£2015[/STRIKE] £1814.48

Waiting for DH to get paid on Fri. Hopefully it will be more than I've budgetted for, and not less . Then if everythings ok with that, I'll be making a large overpayment to barclaycard. Want that card gone before the year's out.

Right, best get to bed. Haven't really had a chance to relax tonight. Oh well, only another 2 days til the weekend and a lay in :T

  • Must be great seeing those figures going down :T:T:T

    Well done!

I wonder why sky are giving out all these deals recently? Maybe its a luxury a lot of people are getting rid of in favour of free view?

  • Bit of a spend tonight. Bought DS6's birthday pressie, lego city police station - a bit pricey at £71, but was budgetted for (for the 1st time ever!) and got free delivery from play.com.

Need to compare a few more insurance quotes, as car insurance due in 2 weeks. Amazingly we seem to be in the position for the 1st time ever to pay it in a lump sum, so hopefully that should save a fair few pennies.

Still need to cancel the sky insurance, been too busy having a nice family evening, a few games of scrabble and backgammon before DS6's bed, then me and DH watching that spooky series Marchlands on itv.

DH payday tomorrow, so hopefully will be able to report that overpayment.
