Well, I have no idea if the sausages were nice or not. I have instead discovered a new diet but not one that I'd recommend. Woke up with a stomach bug at 6 this morning and I have already lost 3 pounds :eek:. Went to work for 2 hours, but had to come home as I felt so crap. At least all my work for everyones tax returns is done with the usual few hours to spare :A
Since I started doing the envelope system the sealed pot has taken a bit of a back burner. I put in change from my envelope and 20ps and under from the grocery one, but only at the end of the week. Also I've put in some winnings from bingo. I rekon there could be about £25 in there.
I'm hoping to make payments per month of £440 to my barclaycard, which is about £380 more than the minimum payment and £250 more than I've put down on my snowball :T. This is only manageable because we've both given up smoking, and don't go out as much because of this.
Hope this bug doesn't last too long....DHs workmate had it for 4 days and lost nearly a stone :eek:LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Your car insurance is eye watering. My last insurance premium for fully comp was just under £250 for the year! And don't forget, once you have look at the comparison websites, to then look at cash back sites like quidco, topcashback, etc to see if your potential new insurer will give you cash back on the deal as well.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks chev. Yes the car insurance was crippling, but that was for 2 cars. Now we have got rid of the gas guzzling old banger, it will come down to just under £250 per year. I'm also hoping to pay this as a lump sum, saving even more money.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Hmmmmm, not sure, need to find another £170 from somewhere. That might be a bit much this monthLBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Spent £16.50 on check-up at dentist today. Have to go back in march for 3 fillings . One or maybe 2 of them may end up being root canals . I hate the dentist, and not just cos of the pain. If it's just fillings including root canals (or extractions), it will cost me £45. If one of them ends up being a crown, the total cost will be £198 :mad:. I'm not paying that. £198 for an hours worth of torture, no thanks...I'd rather have the tooth out...at least it's a back one.LBM Dec 10. OMG hun!!! How busy have you been - just caught up now. Go you - you are doing FAB - real inspiration.
I am back on being able to read daily now. I had food poisoning just before you taking ill and lost 7lb after the week - have managed to only put 2 back on after starting to eat again so pleased about end result but bl00dy awful getting there lol.
Hope you're back to full strength now.
That meat order sounds DELICIOUS!!!! I got a 5lb bag of diced beef £6.50, 5lb bag of minced beef £6.50, 2 pork fillets £5, big gammon joint £5 but OH paid for this one, 4 chicken breasts £5 so £23 for me and it will feed us more than a month as we were given 2 fillet steaks and 2 meal sized bags of diced fillet of beef too. I batch cook the diced beef bag and the minced beef bag like you do and it will easily last us 2 months as it goes so far.
I will also buy a chicken for a roast and probs shoulder of pork for £5 one week if have family over. The chicken goes on for another meal and the pork should make sarnies too.
Sorry I haven't had chance to send you the info as promised - i don't know which way am facing at the moment as everything's whirring past so quickly.
Managed to get back on track with finances thought and daughter's birthday on mon - she's 4. Bless her. Just a tea party affair this year for her but she will love it.
Great news on closing cc and the payments you have been making. I wish I had more spare cash to throw at the debts but it's not gonna happen so I won't dwell on it lol.
What's your plans for the weekend then?

 have just downloaded my MBNA statement for the 1st time in years. Can't remember the last time I had a statement from them, so i just wanted to check the amount I owed was correct as i seem to have paid roughly £60 minimum payment to them for the last year or so. Anyway, it appears that I'm paying £13+ a month PPI. No wonder the bloody balance isn't going down  . Going to wait for my workmate to come back from lunch, then I'm going to phone them to cancel it. Also think I may get them to take £100 a month instead of the minimum payment to try to clear it quicker. In the mean time I have downloaded the documents about reclaiming PPI. it's worth a shot I suppose
.
Hi DF, glad you're feeling better. I've given my bug to DH now. He could do with losing some weight too :rotfl:. We've all just got to try to keep this weight off now, but I can feel my appetite coming back with a vengeance x

PPI insurance cancelled. Letter from here on the way to them. Tried to change my direct debit to £100 per month. Would they let me???
'Sorry, we can only accept direct debits of the minimum payment or the full amount!!!' He suggested setting up a S/O for the difference or paying whatever I wanted on top through the website. Why do they make it so bloody hard  Don't they want my money!!!! Obviously not, they just want to make money from hoping I'll just leave it at the minimum payment. Well, I'll show them.
They also said I would no longer be covered by the insurance as from the next statement date (8th Feb) but my final payment would come out on 8th Feb. Apparently I've been paying for this insurance in arrears. Doesn't make sense to meLBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Sun: Lamb Shanks, Roast Potatoes, Veg
Mon: Reduced Salmon Fillets/Fish Fingers, Chips & Peas
Tues: Fry-up
Weds: HM Bacon & Leek Quiche, HM Wedges & Salad
Thurs: Jacket Pots, Cheese & Beans/Tuna Mayo
Fri: HM Chicken Curry, Rice & Naan Breads
Sat: HM Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, Egg Fried Rice
Wow, am hungry again after that :rotfl:
Sticking to these meal plans has been a lifesaver for me these past few weeks, as a lot of my wasted money was spent 'popping' to the shops.
Was soooooooo cross with one of my bosses today . Us girls went out to lunch today (something we very rarely do -about once a year). We only went to the restaurant over the road, and we were the only people in there, but the food took an age to come. Anyway we took just over an hour for lunch. When I went to say goodbye to him at 5pm, he called me over and said 'remember, you've got to give and take a little'. I told him I couldn't make the time up today, as my DH was on his way to pick me up. I also told him that most days I sat at my desk and didn't even go out to lunch. But no...I've got to make the time up on Monday. GRRRrrrrrrr, he never sees when I'm in early (I was first one there today) as he doesn't come in til 9.15. My other boss was fine, and just asked us all if we'd had a nice lunch. A bit of give and take on the bosses part wouldn't go amiss :mad:
Anyway, no work for the weekend. DH out at footie practise with DS6 tomorrow, so a lay in for mefollowed by some serious cooking therapy. Going to cook the quiche, some scones, and some twinks hobnobs tomorrow.
