I have absolutely no idea how I've managed to clear that much off the O/d !! But the bank agrees to the penny to my spreadsheet, so it must be right
.
My meat delivery came today, and I'm so excited....how sad is that :rotfl: (DF you're so lucky that your DH is a butcher). So I'm sitting here wih one eye on corrie, and trying to do a meal plan for the next 4 weeks, using all this nice meat. All the meat was priced, except for the pork belly, and it added up to £100.48 (pork excluded), and I got it all for £50 :T:T. And it's all organic.
So I got:
1kg lamb mince....have changed the menu plan for this tomorrow night, we're going to have the kebabs again. As DS13 is here, I'm doing double the amount
1kg beef mince - going to do some batch cooking tomorrow, cottage pie and lasagne for the 3 of us for later in the week.
12 pork sausages - using for toad in the hole on Mon. DD18 and her b/f are coming for dinner, so there will be 5 of us.
4 Lamb Shanks - 2 for Sunday Lunch next weekend and 2 in freezer for later in the month as a mid week meal, or I may leave to have as a sunday lunch for March.
Pork Belly - Having this Sunday as roast dinner for the 4 of us.
Half fillet leg of lamb - sunday dinner 2 weeks time.
1.2 kg Beef Rib Eye - sunday dinner 4 weeks time.
(Will buy a chicken for week 3 sun lunch as will be on red meat overload by then :rotfl:)
2 packs 6 lamb cutlets - 1 pack in freezer, 1 for a mid-week meal either this week or next.
2 Fillet Steaks - in freezer ready to have on Valentines night.
So, I have menu planned for all next week and up to a week Tues. Then I have all the sunday lunches sorted for the month. Plus I have a few nights meals dotted here and there over the next few weeks, like Fri nights - HM curry night or other rice dish. Had enough of doing it now, have written my list for this week, and am off to Mr T's after the second episode of corrie. Saves me having to ruin a weekend day with a trip to the sm. After that I may have a , it is fri night after allLBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Just phoned NW to cancel my credit card. I was absolutely amazed when the woman on the phone asked me why I was cancelling. Told her it was something to do with them putting up the rate from 20.8% to 24.9%. Anyway it's gone now, and now all my credit cards are closed and I have no access to any more credit. BTW could you let me have that curry recipe you mentioned before? I fancy trying one next week
That sounds like its a great deal for all that meat. Which website do you get it from? Tried a search for 'online meat' but don't think I was finding the right place.Parents - £4000/£0 paid

Hi there. I was reading your diary and notcied the box scheme for meat. How long would that amount of meat last you? And those sausages, are they the horrible pink things or do they have some kind of spice/flavour to them please?
Just keep going with the debt clearing. You can do it.0 -
It's this site. We had the pork belly today, cooked for about 4 hours on gm4. Couldn't carve it, it just fell apart. Was delicious, no leftovers though
Chicken curry (all estimated measures) serves 3/4
Oil
1 small red onion finely chopped.
2-3 chicken breasts chopped (could use thigh)
1 sweet potato or 2 small potatoes cubed
3-5 tsp medium curry powder
100-150ml vegetable/chickn stock
1 large tomato
handful green beans
tomato puree (2 tbsp approx)
large splash single cream (about 50-100ml?)
Heat oil in heavy pan, add onion then chicken til white/brownish. Add potato then curry powder. Cook out curry powder then add stock and all other ingredients. Bring to boil then partially cover and simmer til vegetables are cooked and sauce has reduced by about half. Sauce should be quite runny still and more red than cream coloured - add more tomato puree if needed.
Really easy curry and can add any vegetables to bulk out. Always goes down a treat in my house, even D6 loves it - DH adds crushed chillies to his though as he likes his curries hot.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Hi redlady
I've done the meal plan for most of Feb, and expect that meat to last us well in to March. The sausages are 71% meat and are pork and herb. They look ok, but I'm no great sausage fan. I'm sure they'll be better than the usual economy frozen rubbish we buy.

Yummy that curry sounds delicious. Think I will have a go at it this week as am fed up of buying jars of sauces all the time - they are so expensive.
Great news about your credit cards being closed
How are you getting on with your sealed pot challenge? Are you putting any change in or sticking to £1 or £2 coins? I started mine a few months ago but ended up raiding it a christmasLBM - JUNE 2010 - [STRIKE]£27,108[/STRIKE] £23,682 (as at 1st Apr 11)

Gonna try that curry next week
I'm not sure I could fit all that meat in my freezer :rotfl: Seems like you get a fair amount for the price.

That sounds like a cracking deal to me. Riverford are very expensive but this is right up my street.
I save £2 coins and have a habit of stealing them off anyone who has one. Also I work part time in a country pub/restaurant (second job) and so I stash all my tips in a jar. Will be interesting to see how much I get in a year.
Also, why not set it up so you can pay your credit cards on line and pay an extra £5 per week. over the year it will soon add up and the £5 is only a packet of fags0
