Thanks guys :). DE, I'll pop over to yours a say hi in a bit. Garfield, just think, in 2+ years, we won't know what to do with all that money :rotfl:

Just popping on to say I've only transfered £140 today as forgot i'd had a refund from halfords for £9.99 for the mirror glass for my car.

Decided to start transferring £180 a week from next fri. That makes £80 extra to pay off the debts. I'm thinking £50 extra to barclaycard, and the remaining money to stay in the bills account to pay off the overdraft. That way if something does happen, then I can still get to that £30.

Hope everyone's having a lovely friday.....only 4 hours til hometime. Then I think a Mr T's shop is long overdue tonight, as there's nothing in the fridge . I will not spend more than £50, I will not spend more than £50, I will not spend more than £50.

Will be back later, someone shoot me if I do :rotfl:

    Hiya

Just popping in to say hi.

I have been doing my monthly menu plan and shopping list for next month today so when I am finished with it early next week I'll pass it over to you if you like, see where I spend etc.

Planning is def the way forward, saved me SOOO much already. i wish I'd done it years ago.....sighs....Lol.

That's fantastic about extra cash to pay and like you say the £30 is there if you need it and soon enough will be in the black!

Am smiling today (even though had arguement with Cap1 but ranted in my diary about that lol). Hope you are too.....have a fab w/e all

  • OK, who's got the gun then?? I went over £50. Not by much admittedly, but still over. God I'm so rubbish at this budgetting malarky.

Had a productive afternoon at work and managed to print off my shopping list from mysupermarket (as I don't have a printer at home). The balance was £46. Went to Mr T's after dinner, so wasn't hungry. Stuck mainly to the list, but had to get other things when the offers I wanted weren't available. Did buy OJ, crisps and DH's cheap deoderant. Only bought 2 things in reduced section, 2 lots of finest potato boulangere now in the freezer for 10p each.
OK, so I bought 3 packs of salted microwave popcorn....but that was allowed....it was half price.......and I'm addicted since giving up smoking. Just had some whilst watching corrie...was delish :D

So total spent was £54.40 so not too bad.

DF, if you can help me out in anyway, I'd love your help, as as you can see I'm carp at this. And I DO menu plan.

  • Cme home from work to find that the delivery had finally come from BB4L. A couple of items missing, so I've emailed them.

Was priceless to see DH's face when I opened 2 boxes full of enough marmalade for him for the next 2 years, and another box with 18 hot chilli & jalepeno relish bottles. Not forgetting the risotto :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Right. Have spent the last hour rejigging the budget. If I take £180 a week, and pay barclaycard the extra £50 making it £400 per month, By the end of the year, Barclaycard will be about £500 short of being paid off, and we will only be £1000 overdrawn.

Had to add £109 of interest to my Barclaycard on my snowball today, so not happy about that cos it's pushed my DFD back a month. Not changing siggy though, as when I get this rebate from natwest cc, I'll use that for my barcaycard.

Now, will have to see how we get on with £180 cos if I can reduce it to £170, I reckon I can get shot of this barclaycard before the year's out. I suppose if it's not there, we can't spend it ;)

Right, best go and get on with stuff. I expect my peacefull morning will be shattered soon - the boys are due back from footie.

Grrrr....DH phone up to pay gas bill, and cos it was only an estimate on both bills, the amount we now have to pay is £191 .

On a better note, just cooked the Doner Kebabs from the secret takeaway book........WOW.....delicious :D. Will definately be cooking that again, and at a fraction of the cost of a real takeaway :j

Just spent £25 on deposit for DS6's football crazy birthday party. I did one at home last year.........never again ;). £3.95 per child and £20 hire of the room for the tea afterwards. Will invite 12 little angels inc DS I think. And do the food myself, just sarnies, crisps and cake.....no need for too much, they never eat it all anyway. The woman at the venue suggested getting food in for them from McD's or a pizza place . Errr, no......that's not very MSE is it.

  • Hi rachelww1,
I'm in a similar situation to yourself, about the same incomings and outgoings (4cc'c, couple of OD's, couple of loans) and it's nice to see the journey of someone in the same boat :) Haven't plucked up the courage to start a diary yet but may do that today as I'm on annual leave :D

I love how you do just what I do, looking at spread sheets and moving this many £££'s here and putting this payment there to try and get things paid off quicker :rotfl: I spend ages looking at mine like somehow I'm suddenly going to see hundreds of pounds hiding somewhere!

See you over on the 'Pay as much as you can in 2011' thread.
