Urgh...my washing machines have been down for over a week (nearly 2 now) my absolute genius of a OH over tightened the plastic splitter so i could plumb in 2 cold feeds, needless to say if i try and fill either machine water just sprays everywhere from the cracked splitter....
Do you have any electrician's tape / gaffer tape? This is the slightly rubbery tape that you can tear off the roll using just your hands. You can use it for all sorts and we have even used it to fix up bits of motorbike kit when touring on holiday.
If you can squeeze your hands down the back to reach the cracked pipe then it may be you can temporarily patch up the crack with this sort of tape. Can't guarentee it will work, but it might be worth a try.0 -

not planning food ahead can be my downfall. I mean I stand in front of the freezer and wonder what I can make for a couple of hours ahead. No more, I have turned over a new leaf. Lovely lean hock is defrosting and dried peas are soaking. Well that is for 2 days ahead anyway! Meal plans and lists really are key
Is anyone else still using up from christmas? I mean the nibbles and the puds. Every year I say I am not going to get sucked in and I do. Doh, I think I am weak willed or its more like `what if someone calls`

All the food we bought for xmas is used up - all apart from one lone xmas pud - partly because we didnt over buy in the first place - and partly due to using up the stores to keep the food bill down.
I really need to get the stocks up again before the next lot of price rises. Currently investigating bulk buying bread flour, rice, staples like that - I have a feeling prices are going to rocket over the next few monthsSMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)0 -
