My first tip in these circumstances is to try a different browser.
Thanks, tried Firefox, and Chrome but neither work?

You've ensured there's no space before or after the code - obvious I know, but it's usually where I make mistakes,

Yes, I've tried copy/paste, and just typing in, definitely no spaces.

I wondered if I emailed Glasses Direct today to tell them, they may still honour the code?

Just tried using 'Microsoft Edge' browser too, but still doesn't work.

Emailing them may be the best option. I've no more suggestions, unless you want to try IE, sorry!

I messaged them on FB, and they sent another code MSE22MAY which worked.

Any recommendations for where I can get the cheapest all-in-cost for glasses on the high street with an eye-test?

I have some glasses I got cheap from an MSE recommendation several years ago, but I don’t think the pupillary distance is quite right and I get a headache with them.

I normally use extended wear contacts, so they’re sort of ‘emergency’ glasses and I don’t really care how they look.

I saw special offers for things like Tesco’s free eye test – but obviously that’s no good if they just charge more for the glasses themselves!

Any tips? I guess I’m interested in the all-in cost for an eye test and basic glasses (no fancy special materials or films needed – I’m short-sighted with a little astigmatism)

    Thanks all for your help

Specsavers from £25, I'm not sure of Tesco's cheapest in-store frames their on-line prices are different, but I suspect they start from less than £25.
Have you checked your eligibility to an HC2 certificate?

ETA For the Specsavers price I've assumed you can find a branch offering free eye-tests - in my experience these are usually readily available.

You can always mix and match! Get a free eye test then take your prescription elsewhere.

asda do all in glasses for £40 - thin lenses, coatings including sunglass, varifocals. The eye test was £15.

Thanks very much - went to Specsavers yesterday. I got a free test voucher of the branch website, e.g. here:

    https://www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/camdentown

and I've ordered some of the £25 all in glasses - will see how they come for a next week.

I was blatantly upfront about being there for a bargain so they didn't really try to upsell me.

Now to find a free contact lenses eye check-up...

    Thanks for updating us.

When I last searched, I felt the best deal was to pay Asda £15 for the CL assessment then buy my lenses elsewhere, they're happy for you to do this. They've not charged me for repeat assessments or aftercare, although I'm not sure this is part of the deal strictly.

Many other chains will give you a "free" assessment if you buy the lenses from them, however their lenses may not be the cheapest.
