Well as i said it's been a few years since my test and they've changed it again last year...;)

Still the point is it wouldn't be looked upon favourably...

They may have changed the test, they havn't changed the applied standards.

I drive at speed limits in built up areas

You are probably more of a danger than those speeding on the motorway.

I drive maybe twice a week, why shouldn't I use the performance of my car (to the legal limits), I don't have to worry about cost of fuel as it's only a toy.

Really? I thought you were an examiner by the way you talk.

Me too, but then it became obvious that he/she doesn't know what they are talking about. :D
  • You have a completely different mindset to these people.

They overtook you because they felt frustrated at your 50mph and wanted to do their own speed/ or just enjoyed overtaking you.
Yes but in the grand scheme of things they didn't save that much time by overtaking as a mile down the road is lights & a 30mph zone with built up traffic! So what was the logic :D

Fair enough, just aslong as your not speeding & adhering to speed limits & the highway code then I have no problem. Just don't complain about petrol prices
  • oh and how am I a danger, I'm only a danger to those who are driving too fast in the first place

I would say driving at 50mph on a dual carriageway or motorway is dangerous. It's practically driving without due care.

Just thought I'd point out that 50MPH is the legal limit for a vehicle over 7.5t on a dual carriageway.

Yeah sitting listening to classic FM sounds like a whole lorra fun - snigger..

I like listening to Classic FM at 90 mph - so there. And, people, is it 'dual carriageway', A 'duel' is something completely different.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I don't call anyone an idiot for driving up to 70mph when the traffic flow is less, that's not my point my point is idiots driving fast & breaking speed limits in built up areas or 50mph zones. Why are people doing this when the petrol prices are constantly increasing,

It is more economical to drive at 60 than 30 in most cars. Just a point...

You should be driving to the conditions, not looking at a road and thinking this is a 30/40 I'll do that.

People who don't adjust their roadspeed for what is going on around them are more of a danger than those doing 90mph on an empty motorway.
