Our bathroom is now finished! We've been waiting to get the shower and shower screen fitted, but the plumber has been really busy. I'm really pleased with how it looks. I've also had the kitchen guy round to measure up for the utility room, they did a lovely job on the kitchen and the price wasn't too bad. I'm still trying to sort stuff out, my brother arrives for a visit on Saturday and you can't see teh spare room for boxes etc! Tonight is rissotto, and complete chaos. DS1 finishes cubs 30mins before I'm supposed to be at quilting, so with travel time we have a turn around of 5mins between him and DH returning and me leaving. I haven't done my homework for my quilting class tomorrow morning either. I'd best go and get moving!

HUGS to all that need them!

Good afternoon chums, well the sun is shining here in north Kent and I have a small line of washing blowing away out there.I have had my head stuck in my books for the past hour and a bit so I have come up for air .I know what I want to say in my essay its just getting started a sort of 'writers block' still I know once I get going I will be cracking on with it.
Cooked half a turkey breast this morning in the SC, that I dug out of the freezer. Its quite a big one so it will do several salads this week I think.

Youngest DD came round for coffee feeling very disheartened. She had her interview and she said the chap was a total a**se.She has been an estate agent for severl years, and because of the downturn in house buying her money had dropped considerably. This plank was apparently quite rude to her during the interview saying 'Well what makes you think you'll be any good at recruitment ,you estate agents are all the same' . The job she had been sent to (by a recruitment agency ) was in another agents with 'no experience required but multi office skills' which she has plus 'personnel skills' which she has,and 'onsite training ' Which she was more than willing to do.
This guy obviously had a thing about working mums as well.He actually said 'You don't need this job when you have five children you should be at home taking care of them':mad:
How she didn't deck him I don't know. She said that even if she was offered the job she would turn it down as he was such an insufferable pig, and my DD would not turn her nose up at any job right now
So its onwards and upwards for her ,hopefully something will turn up.She is such a willing bubbly person I hate to see her so down. She has gone to take her dogs for a long walk along the Medway shore to clear her head. She was fuming when she arrived at my house .She isn't looking for a job for fun she ,like thousands of other Mums need to earn extra money to help with the bills .Her children are always well-cared for and never left at all. Her OH works from home and I help out with shopping, school runs ect.Blooming cheek of the bloke, why are some folk just so downright patronising and rude when they have a bit of power. rant over I shall return to my normal 'sweet old biddy' air shortly
Right I had better get my head down and get started on 19th century sewage systems in London, I hope to get it into my tutor by Friday .
    have a good day everyone

    Afternoon All,

JackieO - chin up for your DD, she deserves better treatment. Good luck to her.

Early for me today, went to have the Merina coil put in this morning and passed out with the pain!! Eventually got away from the doctors and went back to work where I felt very seedy. I have been sent home!! I am feeling a little better but still very sore (like bad cramps) and feel a total fool for being such a wimp.

DS1 and GF coming for tea tonight - they are going to pick something up on the way home as I don't feel like cooking. It will be good to see them as I haven't really spoken to them since they got back from Oz last week.

    Take care all. XX

Jackie O what a p r i c k of a guy:mad:. Makes my blood boil just reaidng it. Your DD deserves better!

Well got my list of jobs done, still don't know what were having for so just grab a few food bags out of the freezer. Two very suspicious looking bags are defrosting in tubs as we speak.

Also found three bags of cooked chicken, so i'll make garlic chicken for pack lunches tomorrow. May even make a chicken / leek pastries if they is enough left over.

So for now tea is still unplanned but have ingredients out at least :o.

Still haven't been to the market to buy fabric / veg, instead just goint to kick myself up the class and sort the kitchen out. There compost and cat hairs all over the floor:mad: darn cats can't leave them for five mins.

Well we went shopping in Asda and even though I had a list I managed to miss some bits because I couldn't find them (I hate that blooming shop especially since they had their refit I can't find a damn thing  ) - oh well I will pick them up in sainsbugs next week.

Cold here too but it is lovely and bright, it is nice to see the sun after a week of drab days :)

Great to hear from you zippy x

Jackieg  that must have been really scary x

JackieO. Your poor DD what an utter B*d
she should complain to the recruitment agency.

Well dinner tonight is a turkey stir fry using the last of the turkey from Sunday. ( I have a turkey soup in the freezer as well that I made from the carcass) That is lunch tomorrow
So it has done 3 dinners and 3 lunches for 3 people for £5 :D
I must see if they have anymore in when I go back next week.

Oh well off to see if any of the washing is dry

    keep safe all x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
