Ebay sales awful

  • I've been having really good luck with my stuff - listed 30 items and made £100, they all sold - CD's, Books and other bits and bobs really. I do think its a bit hit and miss though.

Its is certainly more variable of late but overall sales are OK. Would agree that auctions are a waste of time and a loss maker for me. Still hanging onto the shop till Xmas is over then it will close due to fee hikes.

About half of my items appear on eBay express....one sale out of approximately 500 since it became live has come from express....not an inspiring start. Despite eBays' insistance that express would be for UK business sellers only the scammers and 'chinese' are already on there-see the eBay express community forum on their website for loads of moans. If they dont crack down on dodgy listings whilst express is new then it will go to the dogs like the main site.

I still am suprised by the number of new eBay members or low feedbackers buying my stuff. I find this worrying. Where are all the longstanding eBay buyers.......moved onto legitimate sites to purchase their stuff maybe?
  • I have had a very good week. All my items sold for much more than expected and I have had quite a bit of interest from my listings to do a few private sales as well.
I have to agree with kevinyork that I too have had a lot of new and low feedback bidders and buyers.

If there is an upturn in the number of new users then that is a very positive sign! It means that ebay continues to attract more users, and in the long run more users mean more potential customers which mean more sales.

Lets hope the trend for new users continues.

I think it's not so much the sales have dropped but there's a lot more competition as everyone is trying to make a few quid for Christmas so there's just so many more listings out there.

OMG. Watching my listings end today was just painful! Three items sold for the grand total of £4. Xmas is going to be lean this year :o Good grief, where are the buyers? I am going to have one last go with BINs but that's it. I am so bad at this!
Must start sorting out my lego, at least then I get decent returns.

Maybe the Ebay bubble has burst !!

I was an Ebay addict for last couple of years, constantly searching & buying.
Having numerous things shipped from all over the place & keeping track of them.
    I also sold 1000+ items.

But I have sort of lost interest.

I've bought TOO MANY things & gone into "EBAY FREE WANABEE" mode.

Maybe that's the problem, ebay has reached a plateau in its number of users.

Depends what they are, soem sell, most don't, even local charity shops near me are refusing videos as they have too many and can't sell them.

Unsold is a word I see frequently and not as if £4.99 for an item worth £18 RRP (and sells at that frequently in store and online) is high. Not selling at a loss, think I will just give it a few weeks and see if things pick up.

Lots of new users, but people frequently not accepting without 10+ or even 1+ feedback doesn't help. But I do also understand it from a sellers point of view.

Must be a lot of 'iffy' new ebayers as I've had 4 bids cancelled in recent listings as Ebay have removed the person and they are no longer registered.
One day I might be more organised...........
