Well i've got my interview this afternoon at 3.00pm. I've got to go and sign on this morning first and then back to get ready.

I popped into my friendly recruitment agency yesterday to chat about the company that I interviewed with a few weeks ago, they said then that there may be something more suitable for me in a few weeks but there is still no news. It's a shame as I really got a good feel for the company and feel I could really enjoy working for them. They're still chasing them though so with a bit of luck something might come up.

Good luck with the job hunting today everybody.

Good luck with your interview :T

I didn't get the nursery job. In some way's I don't mind now I've seen my ideal job being advertised, just need to concentrate more on looking for temporary work I think. I'm pretty sure that knowing I'd have do placements at uni went against me with the nursery which is why a school would be so much better as at least they understand that

    Hello all,

Sorry to hear about the nursery job, stephyt23 :(
    Hope something else comes up.

I've just sent off a for a Warehouse Administration vacancy, sounds okay.
Went to an agency yesterday who have forwarded my Cv to a company, so I am waiting to hear on that one.

Another different agency just rang as well, sounds as if its all go here, dosn't it :D I applied for a tempory Garden Centre job. I didn't think I was going to hear anything as I rang them last Friday about it. I havn't got any experience in Garden Centre work you see, apart from my hobby means I know exactly what they are asking for in the advert.

Anyway, I've got an appointment this afternoon with them. They also mentioned other positions, something to do with packing up paint pots for schools - I'm sure these more to it than that, but I'm open to any reasonable offer :D

I guess the reason for the delay is also down to the fact that you don't start until the beginning of April, so guess no rush.

Its only tempory for 5 months, I've checked more than once if I can take tempory work with my mortgage insurance and they allow 6 months which is good.

Normally I'd be really excitied about the position, but I guess I've learnt the hard way ;) not to be.

Thanks Linda, I hope so too.

Missed a call last night from an agency who had a temporary nursery nurse position going. Called them back this morning and they said they'd call me back in 15 mins. Still waiting so will give them another couple of hours before chasing them again.

Good Luck with your appointment Linda :)

    Hi everyone:)

I have my first ever appointment with the Job Centre next week and I'm dreading it. I made a claim for JSA online and I have to speak to an adviser to discuss whether my claim is valid. I have worked full time for the past few years and paid lots of NI, so I should hopefully be able to make a claim for contributions based JSA whilst I'm looking for another job, but I'm still terrified they'll reject it because I was fired from my last job for exam failure.

OH is still working, but our income has more than halved and any extra money would be welcome.

Never really believed we'd be in this position...

I am rapidly losing the will to live. I just sit and cry everyday trawling job sites and there's nothing else I can apply for.

How long have you been out of work for and what is it you used to do?

I haven't been unemployed for very long, but I'm feeling full of self pity already... Had a bit of a cry yesterday, but am feeling better today for it. I think sometimes it just helps to get it all out.

Not long either, only 2 months (well this is the start of the third) but still feel fed up even though I know there are people who've been out of work a lot longer. Think it does help having a cry.

Working with children is what I'm looking for. I've been a creche worker, nursery nurse and supply teaching assistant in the past. Applied for over 10 jobs in those areas so far.

Looked at agencies as I did do admin over 4 years ago but having no luck with that so now looking for anything temp including cleaning work.
