Received thanks Drea! It's actually really similar to mine, only I have less work experience. I am clearly just rubbish :rotfl:
Job centre stupid 13 week meeting or whatever it is today. Dreading it! I have loads of rejections printed off ready to show them I aren't a lazy scrounger, and the questionnaire filled in.
Last night as I was going to sleep I was honestly thinking about how much I didn't want to wake up this morning. Another day of absolutely nothing, sitting around, refreshing websites, filling in application forms, constantly waiting for my phone to ring, for the postman to come or for an email to arrive.
AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! I feel like I am going mad.
I wish somebody would press the play button on my life.
Morning! I am off to the JC as well today, which means I have ruled out job hunting today as I will be feeling rubbish.
Take a load off, do something nice for yourself and remember that you will get a job, it's inevitable, and if it's inevitable, it might as well be fabulous.0 -
commiserations to those with rejections, and good luck for those with interviews
today i will be printing off a few thousand flyers and getting my "menu" sorted, business cards (free via vistaprint) came yesterday, so im getting excited..
and i have 7 orders for valentines day already, not bad considering i have not made it public knowledge yet
after all the heartbreak and disappointment i have suffered, i just keep thinking why oh why did i not do this sooner lol
keep your chins up everybuggy, something will come alongIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

I've been unemployed for nearly a month, It really takes it out of you being unemployed (Feeling worthless etc etc), But there's almost nothing for me to apply for, I guess the best advice for an interview from my experience is be yourself, And believe in yourself, Sell yourself and let the potential employer know that you want this job more then the other candidates, Always shake the interviewers hand before the interview and introduce yourself, It shows that your confident with dealing with people, And shake there hand afterwards and thank them for there time.' You only live once ! Don't live to regret the past, But to enjoy the future '

I feel exactly like this too. The post just popped through the door too and I actually jumped up and ran to get it, nothing for me though :wall:
Hope anyone going to a JC meeting today doesn't come away too fed up, I know how crap they are.
Keep smiling everyone!
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -

Is it a Thursay thing ? I have been summoned to the job centre for my interview today too...I am feeling very stressed about it after the conversation I had with someone from the jobcentre earlier this week. :mad:They have said I have to go today because the appointment that was made (by them!) is too far away to meet the criterior etc etc. But as I keep pointing out to them I work already and have 3 kids so making appointments at lunchtime(whilst I am working) or 3.30pm (smack bang in the middle of a 45min school run) is impossible for me to get to..grrr..was told I cannot use that or childcare as an excuse!! I work in a school so am not allowed to take any time off due to the way I am payed. Although in the same breath (by jobcentre person) I was told I had to be available to attend as it clearly states on my job seekers agreement that I am available between 9.30am and 2.30pm -so they made this appointment for 4pm!
I have to take my kids with me and dont really know what to expect today other than being told that I now will have to agree to drive for 3 days to find work- in order to qualify for the tiny amount of jsa I get...oh and somehow between the allotted times work a minimum of 16hrs (plus the travel time!!!??)..erm did they not do maths at school? 25hrs per week minus 15hrs travel time= 10 hrs work pw:eek: (I am expected at the mo to travel 90mins each way to find work)
Until all my kids are at the same school I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I want to work more but cannot be in 3 places at once simples.Soooo frustrating:(
Sorry for the rant ..but getting it of my chest helps a bit lol!
Good luck everyone job hunting or having interviews today:j.
Am going to ask at school today if I can do some voluntary work before I start my actual payed work, I really want to be a teaching assistant but dont meet the minimum criteria, so hopefully they will say "yes" so I can get some experiance. Would really love working with the foundation kids:DJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Well another rejection letter received today from my interview last friday, however i rang them asking for feedback regarding said interview and was told the following:
* My interview went well and i put myself across well.
* Didnt get hired due to the fact it was based on a point scoring system and so lacked experience over other applicants.
* Also advised he had no problem with me applying for any other vacancies within the company.
Oh well even though it was a rejection i can take some positive from it.........
Good luck everybody with interviews and those with rejections try not to let it get you down...
Best of luck carlos0 -

I wish I had the balls to do what you are doing! I would love to set up a business related to events management. I love organising and I think I am good at it, but I have no real experience, except what I have done in my personal life, not to mention no money!
I hope it all goes really well for you, and 7 orders already, wow!0 -
Morning all,
I'm just back from the job centre, that was the last one of the six weekly signings so now i'm back to fortnightly with probably another appointment with my advisor in the next couple of weeks. Give the lady her due she even let me pick my signing on time rather than just allocating it!
I popped into the agency that arranged the interview I had last week, they are convinced that i'll get offered a role within the company it just might take a few weeks.....
Try and stay positive everybody, I know it's hard.0 -
Hello all,
Just to let you know, I've previously applied to a School as an Adminstration Officer, well I've arranged a visit to the school tomorrow. They offered this on the applicant letter.
Hope it helps to show interest.0
